I'm fly. I'm pilot.
Thanks!

265/70/17

They're the TreadWright Claw II

Not in love, tbh. But for $500ish for the set, can't complain. LOVE the look of em.

Thanks. I like the look and is why I asked. I'm trying to decide on that size or 255/75R17.

So the math says these tires are 31.6" tall, but my tape measure says they're over 32". At that height, 9th gear is as tall as 10th is, on stock rubber. These tires are 50 pounds each, so I'm sure that's most of my problem, but they robbed a LOT of power. I lock the truck out of 10th EVERY TIME. I literally haven't used 10th since I put the tires on. It can't handle it.

Hi Jake,
Just wondering, what were your original stock tires? tiresize.com shows that 2019 Lariat 4x4's could come with either 255/65/17 or 265/65/17 for 17" wheels. I'm not sure what determines which one you get, maybe the package selection? The reason I'm asking is that ours came with 265/65/17s and I'm planning to replace them with 265/70/17s this winter. In that case, the diameter change is only around 3%, so I wasn't anticipating much of a problem. Some quick searching shows that the Ford 10-speed has a ratio difference of around 8% from 9th to 10th, so I'm anticipating that the 3% diameter change should only put me just under half-way from 9th to 10th.

OTOH, if you were starting from 255/65/17s, you might notice a bigger difference in going to 265/70/17s.

Great question, as I have been mis-remembering my stock size. The stock tires were 255/65/17. This shows that it is a 5% increase in diameter. However, I have measured the Treadwright tires at over 32" whereas it should be 31.6".

I wonder if the FX4 comes with the 265s stock... I'm "just" a lowly Sport

Hey David.... not sure if this will help or confuse?

I have the FX4 & Sport Appearance Package w/17" Magnetic wheels. Stock tires were the Hankook Dyna-Pro LT265/65R17.

Here is my truck the day I brought it home:

I went with the BFG K02 LT275/70R17 along with the Ready Lift 3" Level kit & 1" BORA spacers (also removed the FX4 decals):

Hope this helps!
Cheers!

Yeah, 5% is more than half way between 9th and 10th and it sounds like it's enough of a change to be annoying. I'm hoping 3% won't be something I'll notice much. And yes, the exact diameters might vary a bit between different tire models and brands of the same size, and in your case it sounds like it's making the difference even a little more.

It could be part of the FX4 package, ours does have that.

Hi Bryan,
It looks pretty nice. I think you're right, the slightly bigger tire must be part of the FX4 package. Your diameter change going from 265/65/17 to 275/70/17 is similar to Jake's in terms of percentage. I'm also planning to switch to KO2s before winter hits, but was thinking of 265/70/17.

Still haven’t seen very many Saber Rangers out in the wild. Only one I spotted on our last road trip over 2200 miles was this one!

Just got back from a 9-day trip around the UP of Michigan. I only took 4 pictures over the whole trip. haha

Side note: it felt amazing just leaving my phone in the truck or the camper and going away for the day on adventures, not worrying about the best shot or how to document it all, just living in the moment. Plus I didn't have service most of the time anyways. haha

Anyways, this was one of the four pictures I took. Not necessarily Ranger forward (literally haha), but still a cool shot nevertheless I'd say.
