Would this be safe with a Yakima rack? I know it's on a Tacoma but the topper they are using is an ARE.

Totally Depends on the shell. Some would have no problem with it, as long as you are not a heavyweight.

If you are worried you could always make brace bars underneath.

I would say it’s safe. Based on the construction of my ARE Overland topper, I believe you can do it. My installed said that the overland topper has a 250# dynamic weight rating (same as in the video).

I’m liking this setup. Don’t see any reason it wouldn’t work on a Ranger.
