So many logical fallacies occurring now. Oh well.

No offense but it seems you already made up your mind before you even started this thread. I'm basing that given you posted the crash test video shortly after people challenged your idea. Then when more people disagreed you got testy about it as seen above. It's your Ranger do what you want with it. But don't ask for opinions if you really don't want them. That's just my 2 cents.

Any opinions are more than welcome. However I do admit that people who base their opinion off of emotion rather than fact in a fact based inquiry are a little silly.

An example would be;

"I am not sure if the airbag interacts with this area but I personally would not do it"

Vs

"Don't do that you are going to kill someone"

Did you pay attention in high school physics??
This is a perfect example regarding my previous reply to another user. This is the part where I then ask the person I quoted explain to me what physics has to do with an area the airbag does not have an interaction with and this is also the part where they fail to respond with any meaningful reply.

It's all hyperbole.

Your first response when people disagreed was to post a video of a crash test and telling people they are talking out their ass. I have no idea if what you want to do would work and be safe. But it seems to me you already came to the conclusion you wanted before you even posted the question based on your posts in this thread.

I'm not sure if you were expecting an actual 5G Ranger engineer to chime in and validate what you are thinking of doing or what? If you want an answer my suggestion is to look outside this forum because here you will mostly get opinions.

Actually the video was posted in response to saying that it would kill somebody to put something there. Also my initial post inquired about the airbag deployment zone which if you go back and read nobody actually replied to till I dug out the video myself.

But hey fair enough this thread is run its course.

Thats a cool idea!!! What would be even cooler is if you made a door just under that panel that opened with a storage cubby inside.

Cpt. Craig 'Encino Man' Schwetje:
Check it out, I taped my windows so I could turn my laptop on without enemies seeing the light. Cool, huh?

The bag does interact near that area. Or at least with something sticking out from that area.

Why dont you test it out yourself amd report back.
Thats a lot better than asking someone else to do it.

Jack, I've seen some of your posts of your builds, and you are very adept.
Instead of arguing back and forth, why don't you look into alternatives for your molle plate. Somrething like one of these that I found on line...seems that someone with your abilities could easily make an adapter to attach something similar to the console on the passenger side, or even something that could fit into one of the cup holders, and articulate out of the way when not needed.
Just a thought...
