I would take them off. I only use them because the wife says she needs em. They hit everything in the fields, and the rougher and deeper ruts on some dirt roads and fields.
I much prefer not to have them.

My running boards are what sticks out the furthest, so it's the first thing that can get hit when people in lower cars slam open their doors. I am 6'1" and use them every time.
This is honestly the main reason i got running boards, figure it was cheaper to throw them on than to pay for some door ding that some careless POS put in my door.

I don’t like mine and would prefer them off. But, they have saved me from being hit by doors on cars. One I witnessed. Wind was blowing hard, caught the guys car door and I heard it hit. Got out and it hit the step. Chipped it but saved any damage to the truck itself. Guy was super apologetic about it. I told him all good and don’t really like them. The other is when offroad they get hit before the body lol. But agree I like the looks way better without them.

My thoughts also, they don't look so good, but protect against stray shopping carts or what ever.
IDK I like the ones on the Tremor and think they look way better than the stock ones I had on my '19. Everyone said "wait until you scratch all the skin off your legs with them" but I've had them for 14 months now and that's never happened. Both of us use these all the time (being vertically challenged) and have never had any problems. You all need to learn how to step up and down. lol ?

And it’s usually done with a burrito in one hand, a paintbrush in the other, and while risking his shins in short pants.

Now, I think most of us have owned at least one pair at some point in our lives…

but Dave’s mentioned owning several pairs.
I also own several pairs, some of which are well over a decade old.
