So I have had my 2020 XLT for about 3 days now and after spending some time going through the forms I need some clarity on getting remote start on the FOB. We all know that you can remote start most if not all fords through the app. But what do I need to do to add it to the key fob? Now originally my fob doesn't have the 2x with the circle to remote start it but that's the route I want to go I really don't want an after mart fob or have to press some weird combination of buttons on my current fob. So in short what am I gonna need to do to get from the first picture to the second?

I've got an XL, so the same keys as you. I went with Start-X and have been happy with it for the last year and a half. It's $99 now on Amazon and an easy install.

Lock-unlock-lock to start it (or you can set it for 3 lock presses).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Your wish to go from picture 1 to picture 2 ain't happening unless you trade your truck in. Those two fobs work on different frequencies and require a different receiver in the truck. The remote start with the fob and the remote start with the app are two completely different systems and have nothing in common except starting the truck. I suppose it could be done, but it won't be cheap, if you find someone to do it.

The Start-X unit, @subquark mentioned, is probably your best easiest option, maybe the Ford perimeter alarm plus module. Both systems will remote start your truck using your original remote using a key press sequence.
