I'm in the process of moving my machinery to my new house 9 hours away. All I have is my ranger and my enclosed trailer, so on the weekends I take a trip, drop off machines and to see my wife. This will go on for the next 2-3 weekends.

Last weekend trying to beat a couple storms, I had a 50mph headwind plus a loaded enclosed trailer (~5,000lbs) and a ranger with a tall topper loaded to the max as well.

I averaged 10.9 mpg over the whole trip. While I knew the ranger was working hard, I pulled up my torque app for fun. EGT's stayed around 900 to 950 degrees F. & boost stayed from 12psi to 17psi the entire time. most of the time spent in 8th or 9th gear.

The ranger did it well considering travel conditions.

You can thank the turbocharger and the transmission for the nice towing ability. Also remember that the max towing capacity is 7500 LBS for a reason. Just remember to be smart when towing.
