I'm in the process of moving my machinery to my new house 9 hours away. All I have is my ranger and my enclosed trailer, so on the weekends I take a trip, drop off machines and to see my wife. This will go on for the next 2-3 weekends.
Last weekend trying to beat a couple storms, I had a 50mph headwind plus a loaded enclosed trailer (~5,000lbs) and a ranger with a tall topper loaded to the max as well.
I averaged 10.9 mpg over the whole trip. While I knew the ranger was working hard, I pulled up my torque app for fun. EGT's stayed around 900 to 950 degrees F. & boost stayed from 12psi to 17psi the entire time. most of the time spent in 8th or 9th gear.
The ranger did it well considering travel conditions.
