2200 lb. dual axle steel bed car hauler. 305 miles empty and return trip had 1300 lb. zero turn mower. No issues. Ranger did fine. MPG with empty trailer was 21.7 (according to computer) 17 loaded. Open 2 lane country roads and Interstates.

Right on! The ranger is a wonderful tow vehicle. I tow a little trailer, and it does a great job when loaded heavy.

I've (me and my dogs) thought a LOT about buying a travel trailer just like that! What's the loaded weight on it?

Those aren’t dogs, those are full-size cows.
You’d be surprised it’s only about 6k loaded. It’s fully aluminum so dry it’s 5385, and we don’t keep that much in it. I’ll get it scaled some day when full.

Nice cows. So it's well within the Ranger's tow capacity. Great.

That looks like way more than what I thought it could easily tow. Guess I will listen to my wife now, she's been hinting around about an RV....

Hi Chance,

I will tell you a back story about cows. We were in the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky on a brake development trip as the mountains tax brakes. We came into a little town whose name I cannot recall. There was a country store that sold gas and some eats. So we stopped for a pee break and some of the engineers ventured into the store for something on which to snack. This old bib overalled fellow sauntered up to us as he could tell we were with Ford and told us his Ford truck was worth shit as it could did not have any power. So another engineer and I told the fellow we would see if we could help him as something was wrong. So we headed to this F350 with a stake bed. This was a single rear wheel, not a dual wheel. In the back were four cows. The engineer and I looked at each other as we already knew this truck was overloaded. So I asked this fellow how much a cow weighs. He shrugged his shoulders but said he sold them when they weighed over 2000 lbs. So four cows were 8000lbs plus and the truck weighed about 5000 lbs. GVW was about 10,000 so the truck was overloaded by over a ton and half. We explained this to the felllow, but he just walked away in disgust as we were full of shit! You win some and some you just have to walk away...

Yeah, I thought so too, but it actually feels much more stable than my last single axle 20’ did. It has plenty of power even using regular gas. Towed it about 50 miles home over bumpy country roads and it was completely fine. It’s an ultralight, so it’s mostly aluminum. I wouldn’t get something that is 6000+ dry though, try and stay well under that so you have room to put stuff in the bed, and in the trailers front storage.

it’s a 2019 keystone passport 2920bh.

Also, keep in mind I’m in the Midwest and we have pretty flat roads with the occasional hill. However, some in this thread are towing things like this in mountains.
