While the climate controls truly suck (the ones in the Maverick are MUCH better) I leave it on auto 99% of the time.

It makes me hate them a little less.

And the voice activation doesn't work if you have a smartphone connected as it will activate Siri or Google Assistant.

I'm assuming you mean if you have Android Auto or Apple CarPlay enabled? Because I have my smartphone connected to my truck (so I can get texts and make/receive calls thru the truck), but not Android Auto and my voice assistant works fine - no conflicts.

Correct.

CarPlay or Android Auto take over the voice commands if they are enabled and connected.

I just read through this entire thread and I'll start by being clear I do love my truck. So, for any new owners or perspective owners....remorse? No. There are lots of things I love about my truck but irked by a few things too?...sure. (factory tow pkg with 7500lb tow limit and no factory tbc??, crappy FX4 ride, no memory seats on a Lariat? :explode: )

My biggest issue is the gearing. I don't think I should have to drive around in sport, click the trailer button, lock out gears or pay big $ for a tune to have a drive where the tranny isn't always searching for the crappiest gear possible to give me no power because of some enviro law eng. programming.. :curse: I personally find the std gearing selection horrible and at times, clunky, driving between 15-40mph the gears are constantly searching for the least amount of revs.

So, I repeat, remorse...no. Just giving my honest opinion.

Now, I can only guess at the push back I might get here... so before all of you think of things I'm doing wrong with my driving etc. etc. etc. ask yourself: how many here have paid $500+ to have there brand new trucks "tuned".

You sir, are preaching to the choir here , I just hit 3000 miles and 2900 are in tow mode and I don't tow ... D is useless for me , I would do the tune but can't chance the warranty , I just automatically hit tow when I take it out of park ...

That might explain why I have no remorse....

First no FX4 or even FX2 on my 4X2 STX, so the ride does well for long days on pavement.

Second, My seats don't need memory since I am normally the only driver, in fact the fore and aft adjustment on my non-powered seats is far better and quicker than on the powered version.

Third, although I agree that Ford should have offered a better controller, I am happy to say that I got to choose an Ideal after market controller.(InSight)

Fourth, LOVE the 10SPD and its performance and choices.

Fifth, no need for a tune on a 2WD SuperCab, the performance is already astonishing.

Finally, I have never owned a mass produced product which perfectly met my wants.
I have, however, owned several which required only a few mods and a few compromises to make for an excellent ownership experience.

PS... Truth be told, I have even built several custom vehicles and every one of them required some compromise.

From what you say you probably bought the best choice available for your needs and wants.
