Ranger power glitch?

Hey All,

I had something weird happen to me today. Drove my 2021 Ranger to the store and was inside for about 20 minutes. I came out and unlocked the door with the fob and it was not working. I tried multiple times and it still was not working. So I thought maybe my fob battery died? But it’s a new key. I go open up the front door manually and quickly realize the truck is dead. I put the key in the ignition and try and start it up and nothing. I called my wife to come jump start me and was waiting about 5 minutes outside of the truck with the door closed. I began to walk away from the truck and out of nowhere the panic alarm started going off. So I pushed the unlock button and the alarm stopped. I jumped in, put the key in the ignition and it started right up. It was the weirdest thing. I did find an old forum from a few years back of someone experiencing a similar issue. Anyone experience anything like this?

This is surprisingly common. There are several posts similar to yours and it seems to be a one-time thing……..most of the time.

I am curious if just after this event and a scan for codes was performed- will it show any codes?
Most likely it would have to be done before the key is cycled back off to actually pick it up.
I have a hunch it will code something for the Wake Circuit - if it codes anything as that is the circuit that appears to be the glitchy circuit.
BCM stuck in sleep and needing a power cycle of 3 to 10 minutes of the internal relay timers.
