Well, since the prevailing thought is that any shock is better than stock, I ordered these. RS5000X. Just about $150 for both with shipping.

2019 STX stock height. No plans to lift, so these should be good to go.

Will be replacing stock tires this month, so hopefully these get here. Will be going with the Cooper AT over the Toyo AT do to the amount of snow we get

35k on the Ranger and refuse to go another winter with the crappy Bridgestones.

Will update once the Coopers and Ranchos are installed.

I've read a lot of good reviews on the 5000X shocks.

Looking forward to your feedback with them!

added the pic if anyone needed the model number.

Looking forward to ditching the OEM tires.....those were not good in snow.

Suprissingly not so sucky off road though.

Ranchos installed.
Easy install. The only issue was the top nut dropped off the passenger side shock when removing OEM.

That was 30 min of looking and fishing out of the nook it fell in....

I was shocked how easy the OEM shocks are to compress. Thought the non FX4 would be stiffer.

I did measure ground to bottom of hitch receiver. Rear is now 1/4" higher.

I just muscled the new shock in. Took a bit, but was able to set on bottom bracket and used a screwdriver to align bolt.

Did not jack or remove tires or spare.

Took it for a short drive on these country gravel/dirt roads. The difference is apparent. The side to side wallow when hitting a pump/hole is pretty much gone. Firmer, more controlled feel overall.

I did find a bit of paved road. Turning the wheel back and forth at 60mph.....definitely feels firmer. Less body roll.

Will be heading to the mountains soon. Should be much better than stock

Overall happy with the Rancho 5000X. No clue if they will last.

For $147 delivered for both.......not goin to complain.

UPS delivered the shocks today.

Will be installing in the morning
Yep, not a bad job. Just replaced mine a couple weeks ago, both ends. Rears were straight up easy, fronts, not so much.

Had a full set of Rancho's on my 2005 FX4 for about 3 years... worked great and reasonably prices.
