Hello All,
I notice my 23 Ranger stereo recently started defaulting to AM when after shutting off the truck.
I sighed up for XM radio and the last 7 months no problems till now.
One thing that may have caused this is I added an on-board camera with 24hr parking monitor.
It has a built-in low battery shut off. One day I notice on my Ford app that my truck battery was low and that I need to drive it to recharge the battery. I end up turning off the 24 hr parking mod on the camera to keep from pulling power and I been driving the truck a few days and that is when I noticed that 2 out of 3 times the radio defaults back to AM when I start up! I hear there is some kind of low battery protection on these trucks, could that be the problem? or maybe some kind of reset? Any advice is welcomed.

Thanks

This was happening on my wife’s escape. Super annoying! Anyway, I checked and the sync was not up to date. I updated and the problem no longer occurs. Worth a shot!

This was a documented issue with Sync Version (22251) along with a few other related issues.
You should update to version (23188) if you have version (22251)

Owners report that this fixed the issue.

Thanks guys!
So how do I go about updating this? Where do I look?
Is it done from my set on my dashboard?

When I go to your link..
It shows a new up date available, but the auto update on my truck says I am up to date!
I am showing version 22251 on my truck now.
So how do I get my truck to find and update the new software if it don't show I need the update using the auto update feature??

You don’t. As I said in my first reply…
”Updating using a wifi connection in the truck will most likely not find the update.”

The update search on the truck will only show if Ford pushes it to the truck.

even if it shows, the OTA updates to the truck are problematic, the windows download to USB is the best way or the alternative Cyanlabs downloader.

Thank you you for your time.
That is way over my head....
Guess I will have to deal with it until the auto upgrade happens.

It’s not that hard to do. Just follow the instructions on the website. If you do not update, it is likely that your issues will get worse over time.

Or, take it to a dealer and see if they will do the update for you under warranty since you are having problems (if you are still within the 3/36 warranty).

Ok, will try to look over the information again and if I can't figure it out I may give the dealer a call. Thanks again for your expertise...
