Question for those with RCI Skid Plates

I recently added Steel RCI Skids to my Ranger. Love em! Heavy duty as hell and i've already banged them up a little.

But I have a question for the oil change. The cutout for the oil drain bolt is smaller than I anticipated. I am afraid if I remove the drain bolt it would make a big oily mess on top of the skids. Can anyone tell me their experience? Is this something I wanna drop the skid for and maybe install install a Fumoto drain valve for?

Or am I overthinking this and it'll drain out through the cutout just fine?

Also not sure if it matters, but I usually just drain it while the truck is level in the garage (not on an angle with ramps or jacks or anything).

I have a Valvomax drain plug on my truck with RCI skids. I never attempted an oil change without it though. This one

Thanks for this info. I use the Valvomax also and just added the RCI skids. It looked like the cutout would work fine with the Valvomax so thanks for confirming.

Thanks guys! Through your suggestions I finally dropped the engine skid to install a Valvomax to be safe. Already excited to use it in the next oil change!

Did you guys have problem with the oil from the oil filter trough spilling on top of the transmission skid a little when it was draining?
It wasn't too much but would definitely like to avoid it in the future if you have suggestions.

Now I know what I am going to need to get before my next oil change . . . which is going to be needed in the next week or so. . . I have been dropping my skids for each oil change . . .
