There is another location with a similar "indent"....on the hood up near the windshield. I don't have a close up, but I've marked where it is on the attached photo. It's on both sides. Bugs me a little because I see it when I'm driving. I know it's not damage, it's just the stamping process.

I noticed those on the first day I had it...both in the exact same place...opposite each other.
Knew it was just the stamping of the hood (aluminum) and has never bothered me.

Well, I couldn't take it anymore so I went out into the cold drizzle and can't really see this dent thing?!? Am I looking in the right place?

Maybe Race Red is the best after all! Go, Soupie, Go! =p

I think mine may have been deleted, along with half the other stuff ... or maybe I drink enough to not see them. Or maybe the mouse family my engine cover sponsors went into the panel and kicked them out.

Btw, the engine cover automatically adds lane assist on XLs.

You may be good, don't see them.

I'll check that place when I get home today. I'm sure I'll find a lot more things that bug me when I do my complete detail this weekend. I have an appt next week Wed for them to address the paint chips so I'll need to find anything and everything I can before then.

I would think that trying to "fix" them would lead to a more unsightly area...try to pop them out might look much worse. Doesn't look like anything that can be "PRD'd"
10-4. "If it ain't broke, fix it until it is."

Can confirm. Mine has them both sides. Perfect symmetry, as is appropriate for the piece of Industrial Age Art that is the SuperCab.

Now let's talk about the bed being installed off-center.

All these questions, and no answer's. Looks like these dimples, how they got there, and their purpose may be placed in the annals of unanswered history, and listed along with other strange, mysterious phenomenon , like the Bermuda Triangle, The Yeti, Dave's secret addiction to 303, and what type of oil is really in the Damper.

It's also is a matter of like the ingredients in Kraft Mac N Cheese....."Do We Really Want To Know" ????

sounds like where I work and they add to it "why fix what's broke?"

How can we get more parts out of machine x? easy! don't fix all the broken shtuff and add more complex crap to it! ...and don't train anybody who comes through the revolving door... they can't know what we make here

Of all the nit-picky things I have heard about on here, the only one that is actually an issue with me is the "missing" driver's side fender liner. I can see how that opening would become a real mess in an off-road, muddy, clay soil situation. Plus, winter driving in a salty state like I live in makes that opening a great spot for corrosion to get going. BTW... have a damper, but no catch can. 14,000 happy miles, mostly towing and my oil has stayed right at the DOT. Also, have not been tempted to crawl under a hot truck to attempt checking my transmission fluid level. I have owned and through my work driven many, many pickups and this one may become my favorite. Oh, and almost forgot... yes, my rig has the dimples.

It might be the new "high-strength steel" being used to save weight has slightly different forming characteristics (spring-back, etc.) and sometimes the old rules-of-thumb don't produce quite as good results as the older, thicker materials without a little bit more iteration (read development costs here) in the design cycle. They are shaving weight by using thinner steel, but now the panels are more vulnerable to denting from smaller forces. Like how my door sill dented instead of breaking my shin. But the truck IS lighter than it would be if they used the older. thicker materials. But the newer materials are less forgiving to work with.
