Question about Lift/Leveling Kits

I posed this question in a different thread and I think it got buried. Any thoughts on this?

A (hopefully coherent) question for the board about level/lift kits. How important is it to relocate the front differential when installing these kits? I see at least one kit, BDS, that has you relocate the front differential so it's closer to the stock geometry. How important is this? Is it too early to tell, meaning we're going to need some run time on these kits before we know? Or is it a stupid question and I'm concerned about nothing?

I'm running the 2" BDS kit and have had it on for 2500 miles with no issues whatsoever. The shop that installed it said that it was a smooth install and when I went back for re-torqueing as directed after 500 miles and they checked everything out for me, and it was all still solid.

I've lifted a few Jeeps in my day and usually going up to 3" doesn't create any untoward problems. That being said any lift changes the geometry and creates added stress on the drive line and suspension so things can wear out faster. I've only ever had to change the pinion angle or "relocate the differential" at heights over 3 inches. It's always a good idea to try and maintain the same drive line geometry but not always practical OR affordable. Jeeps have horrible "death wobble" when the pinion angle and/or castor angle becomes too extreme. The biggest problem with not changing the pinion angle is premature carrier bearing failure.

Well I have a question about a lift. I just ordered the 3 and 1 readylift. Can I still use my stock rims? Could I still use them if I used wheel spacers?

2.5" Eibach Pro Lift, 1 1/8" spacers, -8 total wheels offset, 285 tires, 85K miles, zero problem...

No diff mod...
