Wow this actually looks like a really cool option, @Justin87, thanks for sharing. I'm definitely considering this--do you know of anybody on the forums with the full height version? I think the mid-height is just a bit too short for what I want and I'm curious as to what the full height version looks like. I couldn't seem to find a load rating on the website, so I also wonder what type of load it would withstand, given the rack + Retrax combo might be a bit weaker than bolting directly to the bed rails. Overall, though, this rack is pretty exciting.

@BHunted this doesn't have T -slots through the full length of the rack hoops, but the fact that it would work seamlessly with your cover might make it a pretty good option. What do you think?
Its nice no doubt. Just got back from the Smokies so I'm a bit behind these threads. I modified my retrax cover rails. Ended up just drilling 2 holes for each bracket. Came out ok but not an easy task.

Oh, I’m glad you got everything to fit together! You mind sharing a picture of the finished product? Hats off to you for making that rack work

Looks like it works great! I couldn’t see much in terms of the interface between rack rail and the tonneau rail in the pictures, but I think the modifications involved were notching the rails and removing some material to give the bed rack mounts the flat surface area they need, is that right?
Correct. Retrax slotted rail notched about 10.5”
Or if you are good working with metal, you can make a plate, drill holes in plate and bolt brackets to plate and use flange bolts to use the slots. Will also need .75” to 1” alum bar stock to give it a footing. Was going to do that but didn’t have the material nor time to do it. Prob with their brackets, they sit about an inch outside rail slots. Would have been similar, just not as neat as the Yokima adapters and setup.

Ahh that makes sense. Do you think the notching increased any potential for water penetration, or is there still plenty of tonneau rail/bed rail interfacing inboard of the rack mounts to retain a good seal?

Water gets in. I haven't had a chance to put a line of black silicon in yet, plus fill the cavity for lack of a better word... I did put weather stripping inside though. Always had a little water in the bed. None of the covers I had were perfect plus the pitch of my driveway doesn't help. No biggy.

Looks like there's another exciting option to get a bed rack to work seamlessly with a retractable tonneau cover!

In addition to Uptop Overland's TRUSS system, the Max Modular racks will fit on Retrax Covers (and Pace Edwards retractable covers) thanks to these new adapter mounts that they're making (I read that they start shipping out in November). The fit looks flush, so it also looks like a really great option. I think I'm definitely going to pick up a Retrax tonneau cover and now just need to decide between the Uptop or the Max Modular rack.

@Glocker, yeah it's rated for 350lbs dynamic and over double that for static. Rack weights 60-65 lbs. Starts at $579 so you don't have to break the bank! Then upgrade on options from there.

That vid is on the Raptor with a 200 lbs tent on top!
I will be doing a full write-up on how the Xtrusion Overland stuff works out for me. I'm pretty excited to get it on my truck with my rip-off roll and lock cover. And I've got a RTT sitting waiting for it!

Guys, this rack is not higher than cabin, so I won't be able to haul my kayak on it without some addition. Correct?

It become pricy :)
There are others on the market that utilize the slots. The track slots can take 1/4" square nuts or similar...
