So my daughter came home yesterday and said at full lock, the gas pedal was "like sticking." I drove it and noticed from a stop at full lock there was a drag, almost like the rear brake had engaged and/or the tires were rubbing. That said, it has 17K miles and never an issue before with rubbing. Then I noticed the 4H was lit up. Put it back in 2H and no issues. Anyone have an idea why the 4H setting at full lock, starting from a dead stop would be doing this?

Do you mean by “full lock” that the front wheels are turned all the way left or right while taking off in 4 High? If so Please you and your daughter sit down and do some research on 4x4 drive systems..for your trucks sake.

Apparently she hit the knob by accident. Sure was easier in a JEEP with an actual shift lever needed to engage - no worries about hitting it next to the shift lever. I think my old F150 had it actually on the dash, probably to avoid accidental shifts to 4H. Just glad she didn't get it in 4L.

Found a nice article on it -

Looks like a shifer cover is in your future. Or expensive repairs.
