Greetings. First time poster here. Just got my Ranger. I have owned rangers since the early 1990s and was heartbroken then they cancelled them for the US so I'm pretty pumped they are back.

Was looking to add an after market sub but there seems to be no good non-intrusive way through the firewall. On my old F150 there were a few unused grommets that I was able to punch a hole through plain and simple. The only way I can see to do it with the ranger is to go through the grommet where the hood release cable is but I am not super thrilled with that idea.

Thanks for any information anyone has!

Steering gear grommet is the best place to go.

Do you know if there's enough room to pass a antenna cable's coaxial head through this grommet...roughly 3/4" diameter?

No, haven't tried to use it for something that big!

The wiring harness grommet is pretty meaty. I'd say it would fit one of those PL259's where you can unscrew the fat part and remove it. I put my antenna in through the vents that are behind the cab in front of the bed. My power came in through the wiring grommet above the drivers footwell. I've still not located where the clutch line goes through, so my guess is it goes through the same hole where the hood release is.

My ideal solution for an antenna would be one of those brake light brackets that has an NMO built into it.

I'm trying to keep things low so my antenna is currently clip mounted to my hood which is why I'm looking for a pass through. Another thought is to see if there's a way to route the cable through the fender between the hood and door. This is a shortwave antenna.

BTW, do you have a link to that bracket? I remember someone posting it somewhere but can't find it.

Hi,
I'm doing a CB install and was really wondering about the vents behind the cab! Could you take pics or explain? I have seen a little rubber seal on the passenger side on the end of the cab that was covered in paint, it was not on the rear of the cab but AT the rear. Please let me know!!

The only way you could take a picture is to take the bed off. Basically I pulled all the trim out behind the rear seat, and there they are.

I've noticed that with the coax going through them, there's lots of dust getting in the truck, so I'm going to have to do something different before the dry summer months come.
