Subwoofer power wire?

Hey everyone. For those who have installed an aftermarket system, where did you route your power wire to get it from the hood into the cab? Through the firewall or alone the door sills? Any pictures or specifics would be appreciated. Also where do you suggest connecting the remote on/off wire? Do I need to pull out the receiver or could I find the receiver fuse and tap into it. I have a picture of an OEM wiring loom coming through the firewall, just to the left of the brake pedal attached. Just seems too tight to force 8ga through.

I see this thread was long ago... but anyways I punched a new hole directly to the top right of the large bundle of wire you took a photo of. I have yet to figure out where to put the remote wire. Did you ever figure it out?
