So my fiancé asked what I wanted for Christmas lol and I sent her the bilstien 5100 for my ranger from stage 3. However I open the boxes today and 2 out of the 4 shocks boxes were fully opened most likely ripped due to there being no interior packaging on the shipping boxes.

I don’t think I lost anything but I’ll find out when it goes to the shop. This was my first purchase/gift from stage 3 I hope the rest don’t turn out like this.
Merry Christmas everyone

Shoot me your order number and I’ll look into Monday.

I’ll have to have to look into whether they shipped from one of our warehouses, a distributor, or Bilstein itself.

Unfortunately, with our supply issues as of late, it’s hard to say who actually shipped it, and that’s ignoring the fact that the carrier may have damaged the original box, reboxed it, and sent it along its way rather that create a damage claim.

I strongly suggest going over the instructions and ensuring that all the hardware and components are there before sending your truck out for an install.

the outer box on mine was fine, the lower mounting tabs were sticking out of the Bilstein box. Remember everyone is shipping everything this time of the year an they are jamming as many packages as possible in the containers an trucks.

Hi Lost,

Have the shop cycle the shocks before installation....This should verify function...any roughness or sticking would indicate a damaged shock and should not be installed. Shocks are quite robust products as they have a pretty rough life ahead for them... Gas shocks take enough force to cycle that it is unlikely you can do this on your own. You are likely okay to just check and install at the shop.... Let us know your outcome...

thank you Jason, I checked and everything looks to be there. I will keep you posted.

Phil, I have the shop check everything. What’s great is the shop owner actually owns a leveled ranger and we have spoken a bit about the up coming work.

Lol thanks but I like that she went to stage 3 for my shocks. I was just shocked by the product boxes condition and wanted to see if anyone had the same problems or if this was a one off because I plan to order more things.

I received Bilstein's from Summit Racing, and the packages weren't perfect. If you have the Shock and the loose Bilstein sticker in the box you aren't missing anything. I don't believe my shocks were in plastic bags or anything.

sounds like everything is there. I did have the plastics for the nuts and ring for the level. So all seems to be good

It all depends on where they ship from. I ordered UCA's and Leaf springs from Stage 3. The leaf springs were not packaged at all. They were left on my doorstep just as they would have come off the assembly line. The UCA's were packaged nicely. Other items that I have ordered were in good condition and well packaged. My complaint with them is their website is not up-to-date. I ordered a full suspension kit from them that stated "in-stock." That was BS! This was back in November. Current estimate is February!!! I know that Stage 3 can't control supply but if your site states "in-stock" then it really should be in-stock. That was enough to make me rethink ordering from them. Especially since the order was for thousands of dollars. I'm still sticking with them for my suspension because I don't want to lose my place in line with the manufacture. However, I have found other places to order my parts from.

I deliver mail an have for 25 years....I've seen tires, exhaust pipes/mufflers, leaf springs come not boxed. Shrink wrapped with the label stuck on it. If you're buying a cheap part trying to save money I don't have a problem with it but nice quality stuff should be shipped with care.

Not what I want to hear when deciding to spend my hard earned money. Put your name behind it or don't sell it.

Hi Folks,

Wife ordered some tops for her winter wardrobe. We got a box that was way too big. Opened it up and there were her Tops and of all things...a Crock Pot! WTF???? We returned the whole thing and two weeks later we received the tops again along with the Crock pot....so we gave up and gave the crock pot to a neighbor that needed one. Where on earth this crock pot came from is still a mystery to us!
