a couple shots from echo canyon (death valley) a week or two after the baja trip.
at the steps. twilight is coming.
the crux step. no problem, right? toss a few rocks down for the passenger rear wheel and we will drive right over. (such optimism)
post crux step
my crappy trailbuilding meant that when we were climbing the step, the rear wheel kicked my rocks out and suddenly i was high centered on the frame right next to the wheel. ended up just winching the car forward with our fancy new come-along. my wife absolutely loved finishing the second half of this trail in the dark.
stock ranger, two naive offroaders, and a comealong. no problem!

yeah. but i woudlnt say a stock ranger made it if i had to winch..
we are so used to just driving over anything that i have become somewhat complacent. i should be spending more time choosing lines or making rock piles since i refuse to get a lift and big tires
the waterfall is about 5 feet tall or something with an impressive step. you can see all the trailbuilding everyone has been doing to get up it. its always annoying to look at these photos and think "well that looks basically flat"..

she still made! winching is not a give up lol. If you ever saw the old camel trophy guys they were digging winching kicking and cussing the entire way, i would never tell one of them they didnt really make it .yeah. but i woudlnt say a stock ranger made it if i had to winch..

Maiden trip to Outer Banks. The sand was mostly very thick and soft this time. Truck handled it great. Aired down to about 20 PSI. Sand mode keeps the RPMs up, but 4H was fine.

Went wheeling with several Tacomas and a 4 runner this weekend. I got a little muddy, got snowed on and froze my ass off all day.

Back in the sand today. The truck worked great (again). There were quite a few storms yesterday. The sand was different today. Some mud too.
