So for the past week, my sister's car has been dying repeatedly on her; it's a 2017, and it was pretty obvious that the battery needed replacing. Fortunately, the first day it happened, and before I got my truck positioned into an angle that's far too small for it so that I'd be able to boost her, the neighbour came out and loaned us his new portable jump starter & got her running again. Since her car was already scheduled for today when this all started, we just added checking/replacing the battery to the work order, and asked to borrow the portable unit for the week so that she could drive around with it. Good thing we did, as she ended up using it 9 times in the past 6 days. I'm definitely adding one of these to my wish list, as it's easier to use than my regular jumper cables (although they'll still stay in the truck for emergency use), but thought that I'd check with the hive to see what else is tried & true.

I'm cheap so I bought the Imazing IM29 a few year ago. Project Farm is always doing reviews on jump starters. Here is one of them with the Noco GB40 mentioned above:

I'm in for the Noco also but have the gb20. Haven't needed to use it yet but checked the charge on it after about 6 months and still full.
Also have thier genius5 battery maintainer and swap it among 3 batteries for the toys.

I don't have one now,but can confirm that NOCO jumpers are nice. That said you want to get one rated for double the normal crank capacity since it is a lithium jumper the lithium jumpers do lose charge quickly with jump starts. That said they can be charged fairly quickly

I like the Audew - bought 2 of them , one for wife and one for me - I keep it in the cubby. I have actually used mine to jump others in employee lot - worked flawlessly- holds charge. The cables are rather short though.

I second Airline tech. I own 2 of the Audew units and they hold their charge a very long time. They stay in the vehicles, and I have used them on several occasions to jump start others and my tractors. Very high quality and a big bang for the buck.

I have three of them an GOOLOO 4000A, NEXPOW 1500A, and an Imazing 2000A. I leave one at the property for the tractor just in case.

The GOOLOO I got free. Land neighbor gave it to me it would not charge. Took it apart and just was an cell imbalance issue easy fix.

I have tested them all they work great for there purpose.

:)

I've never had any luck with Jump Starters / Jump Boxes in the past. Something always went wrong.

I invested in a set of 30-foot heavy duty jump cables and never looked back. At least I know they won't go dead or wear out on me like a jump box can.

If 30 feet is not enough for you, you can always get a custom length of cable and two sets of alligator grip clips and make your own.

I bought mine since the price to make mine was actually a dollar more than the pre-made set. Your costs will vary with the price of copper cable.
