Jupiter and four of her moons. Image shot with a regular camera and 200mm lens. Then cropped to death! I don’t own a telescope. 7/2020

@Ace Holliday - seeing your Neowise shots reminded me that I forgot to share the ones I shot. I posted in other threads about the drive up to the butte, but forgot to share the final results. :)

Here's a shot from my back porch:

And then one from the top of Squaw Butte, in Idaho:

These were all shot on my Canon 6Dii, with a 24-105L lens.

Camping in the Fall colors this past weekend in Northern Minnesota. Colors were just past peak, so there was still enough to make it worth while. It was also a little chilly (below freezing both nights and only up in the 40s during the day), but it was sunny and calm and it didn't end up snowing like it was forecasted to do. Heater in the camper worked well and we were quite comfortable.

Very nice! The middle one is my favorite. Where is your back porch located?

Took an easy hike though Zion this morning. While it's nice I think I'm spoiled with the scenery in Sedona and having been there 8 times. Also, Zion is super crowded and parking is a nightmare if you can find a spot at all. Shuttles are sold out as soon as they go on sale weeks ahead of time. Looking forward to Bryce Canyon later this week.

Then walked right up to this guy. Was literally 6' away.

Hi Dave,

Don't forget to do Angle's Landing. I was one of two of us blue hairs that made it that day. Wife stayed behind at Observation Point. I was pretty sore from all the pull chains the last half mile...

Hi Phil,

Thanks,I'll check it out if we go back in. I'd be doing it alone as my girlfriend has a bad knee so she'd be hanging out too at the Observation Point.

Zion is so crowded right now and with the limited parking inside makes it hard to enjoy it. It was a 45 minute wait last night just to get in the east entrance then 12 miles of bumper to bumper traffic all the way through the park. I think it said there were only 450 parking spots inside the park and every single parking spot was full. We're staying just outside the west entrance (1/2 mile) so toady we walked in and did one of the easier hikes along the river. One of the locals told us about a few other nice places to go which are less crowded and have great views so that's our plan for tomorrow. :)
