Dave I bought the car a little over 3 years ago. The car was built in NC about 21 years ago and only has 468 miles on it! The builder never got the brakes working correctly and the steering wasnt to good either.I took body off frame and went over everything as it sat 21 years so all rubber products on car deteriorated .I have corrected the brake issue and fixed steering and all other systems. All new wiring and im just about ready for Delaware inspection. The paint work is the only thing left from the original build and it is very nice, just needs to be wet sanded and buffed and im ready for some shows. I wish I was in Arizona for year round car shows. Bret
What a great project and job you're doing Bret! Yes,there are a lot of car shows here from Barrett Jackson and now Mecum which is held very close to me and a lot of local ones every weekend. My girlfriend works for one of Mecums main sponsors and gets me VIP passes so I'm looking forward to that next month. You'll have to post some pictures when it's all done I'd love to see it finished.

Bucket-list item. One day I'd like to make it to one of those auctions.

Mecum just started here last March (2019) and it was such a hit they had to turn away cars for auction and have added another day to this years. If you all ever want to come down just let me know in advance as I can get passes which are good for all days. :)

I just looked at my last years passes and they're not vip passes but sponsor passes but you still get access to everything inside and can go back into the staging area and check out the cars and talk with the owners. Last year Dodge had a couple Hellcats out front and were doing a drifting course with free rides. Even though it was a short course it was really fun and what a job getting to beat on a car and smoke the tires off and NOT have to pay for it. lol

Attended my first Mecum auction last September. It was fun. Just browsing thru the cars before hand was better than many car shows I have been to. The auction was educational. They get the buyers all hyped up, they also serve alcohol. I saw some go for way over what I thought their value was and a few lower. Some auctioneers raise the asking bid 500 at a time some 1000 or 1500. If you were bidding it would take some discipline. You would want to know what you were willing to spend for any particular vehicle and stick to it and not get caught up in the atmosphere or a bidding war. I will definitely go again when they are close to me. Maybe Barrett Jackson some day too.

Sounds like a blast. I know I'll never have the kind of money to buy at an auction like these, but going just for the "car show" and atmosphere would be great.

Me too. Although we saw an older Vette go for $4400. My brother in law was wishing he was on the bidder list. Me? not so much. :)

Few from a road trip I took in 2018. Really made me fall in love with the PNW, someday I hope to move out there.

Also need to take the Ranger more places so I can feature it in these! The Fiesta has officially retired from camper duty.

Beautiful photos. One nice thing about living in the PNW, it most definitely has great scenery.
