I remember reading in a previous forum post that people were able to locate the PID to be able to monitor transmission temp while using apps like OBDlink+ or Torque.
I’ve got both apps, but I’m unable to get this functioning. Any step by step guides, or pointers? My preferred app would be OBDlink+, but if I have to, I can use torque. I’d really like to keep an eye on trans temp while towing, as I know my coolant temp can get to 220F while towing my camper in the summer time.

For the Torque app you need to add the Ford specific PIDs supplied with the app. It includes the PID for trans temp. I monitor boost, coolant and trans temp while towing.

So,for the Scan Guage will the PID will be different?
The newer Scan Gauge lll already has the correct set up for the Ford trans temps. The older Scan Gauge has it available, but it must be programed in using the advanced settings...I was never able to get it correctly programed...I now have the Scan lll and it is super easy to program for trans temps.
The lll also has many more gauges and info available than the older units have.

How did you mount the Scan Gauge lll?

Used the windshield mount that comes with it. Ran cable to and down weather stripping, bundled extra cable under dash next to port.

I have the ScanGuage II and somewhere on the forum posted the PID for it. For me it works great. Currently in Iceland, so I won’t search for it now.
