Anyone know what the black plastic oval caps are? Since I don't have my truck yet I took this photo of a 6 ft bed XLT., the only Supercab I have seen. You can see 2 of these black oval inserts in the bed. They standout well in this white version. I didn't notice them until I left the dealership. Not that it matters much but I am curious if anyone knows. Thanks in advance.

Uninformed opinion was they are for the wiring of the bed. Other then that I'm guessing they are mounting points for the drop in bed protection. Definitely do not use them for tie downs or you may get reverse dents.

I thought I remember one reviewer saying that they could be used for extra tie down locations. Just pop out the grommet things. Not sure how sturdy those points are. Thing is the reviewers don't always know what they are talking about. One of us should ask our Ford dealer for more info on them. My truck is not due for a month. Hopefully we can find out before then.

I do not think I would do that! There is really not that much support, I think it would bend to easy

Good to know and thanks for helping solve that mystery, Washashore.

I agree MSG W it does not look very reinforced to be using tie downs with.

Most reviewers being idiots - sadly funny but true, haha! VAMike
