Reading through all of these issues you guys have makes me realize how lucky I apparently am with my truck. I either don't care about a lot of these issues, or I've never experienced them with my truck. Definitely an upgrade from the last vehicle I had (Subaru Crosstrek), which was riddled with problems right from the factory (transmission problems, misaligned rear axle, engine oil problems, etc.); problems that still persisted 5 years later when I finally traded it in for the Ranger.

The SS is not as bad as some others out there, rented a Chevy Malibu and the lag between the restart of the engine and movement nearly caused an accident leaving a driveway in Chicago. What i do not like about it is when parking; the motor shuts down due to SS, but when you change gears to P it restarts just to shut off. wish the delay from full break press to SS was a bit longer.

the non-fold-flat bench is killing me, so much lost storage for my hunting gear.

Auto stop/start

otherwise perfect to me
Agreed, Auto Stop/Start used to be an issue for me. I learned via a short video about 2019 Ford Ranger "tips" that driving in Sport mode "S" disables Auto Stop/Start. Now I only drive in Sport mode, and the MPG is not different than when I was driving in normal mode "D".

The fact it's designed by the team that designed the escape and not the f series. No f-series brake controller, no window dip (started with super duty), nothing truck like on the interior. Feel like I bought a tough escape, not a mini f150. Even the wiring coming out on the window heater. Bugs me.

Great truck, but put a TRUCK design team on it please!!

I have no issues with the Auto Start/Stop. I never felt I was faced any danger, or other issues. As others has said, you'll get used to it, and learn how it works. As soon I start pulling my feet off the breaks, it's already started up by the time I am off the breaks, and touching the gas.

I wished it stops again if I am in line at the car wash, or drive though...

Not sure if anyone else has this issue but...
Have an XLT with standard OEM halogen inserts. Never fail nearly every evening folks flash me because they think my brights are on. I've ignored it now its annoying me so much I flash them my actual brights back. WTF all newer vehicles have been trending to a higher lumen as well as truer-white light for years. I see them every day but dont flash them...

Have you installed a level or a lift? I have heard before they can aim the headlights to a higher level and people think the brights are on.

That was my first thought too. I was getting flashed a lot when I first installed mine and once I adjusted the headlights it's helped but I still get flashed occasionally.

I went with a 3in and get flashed all the time. How many turns did you make to adjust yours?

IIRC it was 1 3/4,I put a mark with a Sharpie on the top of the bolt for a mark. I also put a tape mark on the back garage wall to the top of the light beam and used that for a guide at about 15'.

There's some more info and pictures here.

1: Hate that infernal auto-stop and start. In the rare event I forget to hit the button it will invariably try to get me in a wreck due to having to start the engine first.

2: The brakes feel spongy like they have air in the lines. When pedal is pushed quite a ways down, the brakes work well but the spongy feel is really driving me nuts. Are all the Rangers like that?
I have noticed that effect on both my Ranger and my bride's Sonata. I am wondering if these vehicles with the auto collision avoidance feature 'always' provides braking assistance. I notice when I come to a normal stop, after the stop, the vehicles seem to want to start creeping and I have to press harder to stop the creep. It is as if the braking has been given some assist and when it detects zero speed, it releases the assist and now it starts to creep because you don't have enough pressure on the brake pedal.

Anyone else detect this symptom?
