I've noticed that the two 12v covers on the center console keep popping open. Poor design.
Same!

Also, what is up with the large opening in the lower grill? I assume it is for maximum airflow, but it looks like a part is missing and is a great garbage collector. I found a plastic shopping bag in mine recently. Couldn't Ford have put some sort of grill over it?
That has been slightly bothering me as well. I nailed a small bird the other day and had to reach in to feel around to be sure it didn’t end up in there. I keep searching eBay to see if anyone has come up, with a honeycomb insert.

When the engine is shut down and has to start, and I need to go the instant I step on the throttle, the truck does not go right now. The engine has to start first, then it stumbles because the transmission has to engage while the throttle is nearly pinned to the floor. Which only happened because the engine was dead to start with.

Totally stupid idea, and super un-safe. A gasoline engine IS NOT AN ELECTRIC MOTOR. I doubt turning the engine off and re-starting constantly saves even a few cents-worth of fuel. And could contribute to an accident happening as described above. Every time i forget to hit the disable button i get to experience this nonsense again. I am getting to where i just automatically disable it on every startup. Wish i knew how to disable in FORScan. I read it can be done but have no idea how to do it. Is there a map available that lists what all the codes are, and their locations?

You know, the auto start/stop is regulated by brake pedal pressure. When I see it is about my turn to go, I start releasing the brake pedal. This allows the truck to start without actually releasing too much brake pressure to allow the truck to roll.

Yep. I suspect too many people don’t know or understand that as well and it contributes to their frustration with the system.

Actually a very good system when you get used to it, I always adhere to the left right left rule or the 2 second rule before accelerating from a complete stop so no issues for me, I do wish it would shut of more consistently like going through a long drive thru like Dairy Queen.

Well yall are assuming I am talking about leaving from a red light. Not the case. I actually drive very conservatively, and rarely ever do Jack-rabbit starts. To me the Auto stop-start does not work well at all and combined with lag in fly-by-wire throttle, becomes dangerous to use. I hate it and I intend to find out how to disable it permanently.

Another thing I want to fix is keeping the fog lights on when the high beams turn on. Currently the fogs turn off, and I want them to stay on. AND I want to disable the auto high beams / low beams switch from happening too. I admit to being old school. I want to drive the truck myself and not have all this stuff bothering me endlessly.

If you're not trying to fly off the line, the engine will be running by the time your foot moves from the brake to the gas. Saying that you just don't like it for no particular reason is much more sensible than saying something that anyone using it can see is ridiculous. Everyone is entitled to their own irrational opinions about things, and nobody can argue with the way you feel, but if you make substantive claims that are pretty obviously not true be prepared for some eye rolling at the least.

I did not know that about only having four lights on at any one time. Far as the auto SS thing goes, just have to leave it at "I dont like it, and will find a way to permanently disable it". If everyone else loves it, that's great.

Overall the Ranger is an awesome little truck. It will cost me less to own and operate. My technical poling skiff is much more important to me, costing twice what the Ranger did. The truck tows my boat and gets me to work. Good enough. I am very happy with it. I will find a way to fix what I dint like about it.

I believe a forscan change will allow fogs to stay on with high beams.

When parking in the garage, but not locking the doors after shutting down, I notice the sync screen and usb plugs stay illuminated for an extended time. Nothing else is lit.
Never noticed it before until tonight. If I hit lock on the fob, all goes out immediately.
I'm sure this times out but was wondering if anyone else noticed it. A peeve? Not really, but curious.

i guess if the twatwaffle behind you is John Force running for the championship title, i guess i can see why you think you'll get in an accident. thats really the only excuse for needing to launch off the light to avoid one. Most likely though, your need to launch like Johnny, will get you t-boned bu a guy running a red light...but to each their own.
I suppose you have your own thoughts on death becoming...I assume mine will come at the hands of some disgruntled forum member who's feelings got hurt.

advice for you on getting that motor up and running before the light turns green...I assume since you're a jackrabbit looking to race to be first at the next light, you're watching the cross traffic lights change like most people, so you know it's coming...just ease up on the brake pedal a touch...it'll start, and vroom, blast off like you intended when the light changes green. PS, watch for that red light runner in case you forgot already.
A slight movement of the steering wheel will start the engine also.

The cheap feeling creaky door panels. If I put any pressure down with my elbow on the drivers door panel the pad makes a creaking noise.
