Hello all! Just purchased a 2020 Ranger Lariat FX4 a week ago. It has just over 34k miles. Obviously, a week isn't a long time, but so far am really enjoying it. Anything that is a persistent issue that I should watch out for?
Thanks

Congratulations!

If you stay on this forum, beware. =p

You'll have to get a damper (if you don't have one now).

You'll learn of many "issues" but probably (hopefully_ not have any of them, except for that design defect of the bed being too high with too much bed rake). =p

You'll kiss any retirement or savings goodbye with all the mods that you'll be compelled to make (my signature, at the bottom, links to the mods I've done which come close to a third of what I paid for my XL Ranger!).

All kidding aside, this forum is filled with incredibly knowledgeable folks that can pretty much answer anything, no matter how obscure. Plus it's a great gang with humor and comradery.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome!

It’s a great truck and a great forum - lots of knowledge about features, service, modifications, towing, accessories, etc. A lot of jokes flying around and some real characters.

As with other automotive forums, folks with issues are drawn here - those without any issues are generally not. Don’t be freaked out by some of tales of woe but know that if your truck gives you any grief, you can likely find out more about it here - whether you asked to or not. ?

I can easily see myself dropping a "little" bit of money on some "necessary" mods!

Always good to hear about concerns and problems. I guess with like everything else, there is good and bad, and I certainly appreciate hearing about both.

Welcome! Arkansas has some incredible back road trails from what I hear and have seen on YT. Hope to venture in that area soon.
I was just looking on-line for some that are or may be close to me. Definitely will be checking some out in the near future!

Great advice right there.

Enjoy your new truck. My Ranger is literally the perfect truck for me.

Welcome.
I'm coming up on 30K miles on my 2021. I will get a transmission fluid change at that time. With a 2020, I'd also think about doing the brake fluid as well (after three years), and possibly the differentials and transfer case. That'll get rid of most debris that the wear-in phase may produce in the lubricants.

Welcome @TLD04 ! Love the red FX4. I have only had mine a year so far but I feel it is a very reliable platform and will reward you if you are on top of your maintenance.

It is common for folks to recommend a 5,000 miles oil change interval vs the 10,000 (give-or-take) mile interval that the oil monitor suggests.

Due to the frequency of transmission failure threads on the forum it is becoming a common recommendation to drain and fill your transmission fluid at a 30k - 50k mile interval instead of 150,000 miles per the manual. It is recommended to NOT flush these transmissions.

I am personally aiming for 50k because I put a lot of miles on my truck in a year.

Otherwise enjoy driving the king of midsize trucks my new friend. :sunglasses:
