Hello all Ranger enthusiasts, I hope everyone is doing absolutely fantastic!

So it seems as though Blue Dream had a little unwanted touching. The secretary at my work backed out of her parking spot, her spot I was unfortunately parked next too, and skimmed my beautiful machine with her shitbox Nissan Frontier. She must have just barely barely kissed it. No actual disrespect to Frontier owners but hers isn't well kept. Mine is 29 months old at this point and because of my meticulous OCD I'm able to detail it so it looks factory fresh still to this day and thus far I haven't had even a minor door ding or anything like that. At all. So this kind of bums me out. Not to mention fanatical maintenance with only premium fluids, replacement parts, etc. I LOVE my truck.

Anyway, see the pictures and guess what the estimate came out to be. It's extremely minor. Nothing is dented or bent (thank God) but the amount for the repair estimate is mind boggling.
Let me know what you all think and I'll reveal the price later. As an aside, if anyone has any ideas to avoid such a ridiculously high repair bill, I'm all ears. But she's paying, so there is that. And I cannot stand the idea that a claim for something so insignificant would ding me on Carfax (no pun intended). Thanks for playing.

Thanks and have a most excellent day.

Buff, paintjob, heat treatment for the bumper. About 800$

Forgot that you don't have ridiculous 25.5% VAT, so would be 640$ in there :)

At least. Do these have bumper covers over the actual bumper or are they one piece units?

I was just being unhelpful(attempt at humor) but it looks like a multipiece part that connects to part of the frame. That corner piece is metal and has some structure to it.. I am no expert though.

But in all seriousness I would wager $800-$900 if nothing needs replacing and it is just a paint and buff. But I am bad at estimating body work, but that's why I am not in that profession.

What's VAT?
Value added tax.

It's government extortion to get to the peoples pockets. Anything you buy get's 25.5% tax (but for business it's deductible. Ie. if you buy something for 100$, the price is 125.5$, but if you resell it for 150$ the VAT would be 38,25$ but the business can deduct the earliely paid 25.5$ - so Government takes the 25.5% from the final sale price)

And that is inclusive of any previously paid taxes. E.g. if you have 100$ car with 50% car tax, the VAT is calculated from the 100$ + 50$ car tax => 38,25$

$2000.

I did a DOH and had to get my rear qtr panel repaired. I used my insurance, and no ding on carfax that I'm aware. Had the same thing happen to my outback, someone rear-ended me. No police report, the cop came and just said "you guys deal with it" and drove away. No carfax report on that, and I know that for sure cause I checked before I sold it to Carvana.

Be sure that taillight doesn't have any small fractures. That'll skew the results of your game a LOT.

As posted above, the painted bumper panel is a separate piece but you have to remove the bumper to R&R it.

Ok, so the estimate came out to right about $4,400.00 US. Insane. They want to take the whole back end apart and spray the right quarter panel. I'm just not too comfortable with that. Everything on the rear gets taken apart. Everything.
I doubt the panel will match on the right side and there's just something about the entire rear body being taken apart and put back together that worries me.

Shit box frontier? Lmao.
You lost all my sympathy now.

I would've made sure my plastic bumpers would wreck more of your paint.

I suspect you can sense I'm just joking. Sucks this happened to you.
