Pretty sure it’s got to do with the full on communism up there in the great white unfree

Might be they recycle the oil to make brown gravy and synthetic may be tough on the digestive system even though it would make the fries go down quicker .

so ive always just assumed the oil thing was due to Canada having harsh cold. but idk. i watch ice road truckers once in a while and always think screw that kind of cold.

I'm Canadian, and I can say a vast majority of us hate it too. We put on a "brave front" when asked about it and talk a big game about how we love the cold......but we don't. I do nothing but curse & swear from November to March every year. Ice Road Truckers is the extreme North though and is unbearably miserable. Southern Canada, where everyone lives just gets uncomfortably cold in the Winter.

I used to live not far from @Canadian Ranger and spent six winters there. I can tell you he’s totally and completely exaggerating the winters in New Brunswick.

To the low end! They actually run from October to May.

I hated the winters there and only stayed as long as I did because the people there are so darn nice. ?

My guess is there’s likely an additive in one of the formulations that isn’t permitted in the other country. It’s not as if the winter conditions in Windsor or different than in Detroit (actually north of Windsor).

Well, this certainly explains the slow traffic on the 401...

I confess. I live in the one area of Canada where if I go pee outside it will not freeze coming out. Yep - south west BC - the lower mainland. The only other place is Vancouver island and I lived there too. But to get some creed amongst my fellow Canucks - I grew up in the central interior of BC and was confused as every other kid watching schools shut down in the lower mainland because of a little snow. oh how we wished for a snow day like those kids. When my kids say they don’t have enough snow days I remind them of my childhood - uphill both ways in the snow?
