No heat!

So our one year old Ranger has an issue.
I have no heat!
Well, except on HI, but nothing but ambient air below that setting.
No matter if it is set to 85° or 65° the air coming out of the vents is the same.
Not a good thing when it's below freezing in the mornings.
Anyone else come across this issue?

So it is possible you could have the oh so wonderful warped distribution box in the HVAC unit. I had this problem last year any my truck was only 1 year old. Good news, chances are the parts are available and as long as you are in the 3/36,000 (bot counting extended warranty) you are covered and it can be repaired for FREE

While we're on this subject, if I have a dislike for the HVAC, it is the slow fan speed when using the automatic setting. If there is a way to reprogram the unit, I would. My local Ford dealer knows less about it than I do.

At best you could attempt to go into the HVAC module with ForScan but i wont promise anything. Something to remember with Auto temp control is it uses predetermined logic from the Ford Engineers to control fan speed and blendoor position for the temperature you set it to. It may seem silly but it is the truth and other manufacturers have worse Auto AC control compared to Ford.

This advice always sounds backwards to a lot of folks. It‘s usually met with the same odd look when someone’s car is overheating a bit in the summer and you tell them to get it up to speed on a long stretch and turn on the heater.

Or, when steam is pouring from the rad cap in the dead of winter and you tell them their block or radiator is frozen.

Waiting for the out come of what going on with your ranger.
Mine has started that also. The difference is if mine isn't blowing warm air I kill the vehicle and restart. Seems to be working.

You are in the early stage of the HVAC distribution box distortion. Best thing to do it take it to the dealer. They should be able to pull a dtc and go from there.

And we have a winner!
They are ordering the parts and they told my wife it will take a week to do the repair. I hope the replacement is better than the original one.

Well, apparently someone jumped the gun. My Ranger is still at the stealership and they have no clue what is wrong with it.
I told my wife they get one more week and then we need to find another service center. I am not happy with this outfit.

So the stealership called and said they could find nothing wrong, and that ambient air temperature coming out of the vent is normal.
So when it's 40° F outside and you want 74° F inside it's normal to NOT have heat come out of the air vents.
Time to find another place to see if they can fix this issue.
