Hey everyone,

I'm Franco. Recently moved to Texas, and got myself a really clean 2023 Ranger XLT with only 3100 on the clock.
Got it to replace my 6.0 that blew a head gasket, lol.

The 6.0 will be getting sent to my dad back home in Florida, where it's gonna get rebuilt.

Strangely enough, the Ranger is basically the same configuration as my
Super Duty, which is the reason I got it.
And so far, I'm lovin' it!!

Also got a 2002 Honda XR650L that has been restored and bought every single aftermarket part you can think of. It's a beast for sure, and it's being worked on as I type, getting converted to Super Moto. Yes, I also changed the color from Red to White.

Got the two trucks sitting side by side, and they look like twins.

My plans are to lower it, and make it into what an SVT Ranger should have been, for the streets. Slightly lowered, bigger wheels with some low profile tires, Roush inspired.
Maybe even look like a Saleen XP8. Anyone know what that is?
Perhaps I'm showing my age already.

Already got some mods, mainly body pieces. Im just waiting for the rest to come in and convert what I can without voiding my warranty. ?

If anyone is nearby be, don't be afraid to hit me up!!

Hello Everyone, Just traded my 22’ Maverick Lariat hybrid for a 20’ Ranger XLT with black appearance pkg, towing pkg and technology pkg. with 15k miles and 1 previous owner.

Maverick had too many recalls and issues for me to go on with. The main issue was having both axles replaced twice. They use the same axles for replacements so I didn’t trust it to be a permanent fix.

I needed better towing capacity because we are selling our tear drop camper for a bigger one but didn’t need a full size truck. I had a 2006 F150 and sold it once I ordered the Maverick.

The only thing I will miss is the amazing gas mileage.

Welcome, the is a good group here that can help with any towing questions you might have. Some of them are towing near maximum weight travel trailers. @Grumpaw is one with a lot of experience. Other than the gas mileage, the Ranger is a towing beast.

I have been poking around the forums for a month or so now. I recently Acquired a 2022 Ford Ranger Tremor XLT. Got a ok deal with only 5000 miles. I am a previous owner of a 99 Ranger XLT 4x4 3.0l 5 speed. I drove it daily since 2002 until Jan 2024. I got a great story about the 99 after I bought the 22 but that is for another time. So, I have been in the ranger game a long time but never ready moded the Vulcan motor since it is really Just a workhorse push road v6. I have always been a fan of the mid trucks for their mobility and utility. Though the 99 was always a bit small for a 6'5'' person like my self, I absolutely loved that truck. I damn near teared when I let it go.

The 2022 Ranger is whole different beast compared to the 99 gen Ranger. It has all the things a guy wants in a truck without paying the Full sized price tag. To me the full sized trucks today are luxury SUV's with the back cut off. They are to big to be nimble, and to expensive unless you have specific need to own one. This Gen Ranger is a 3/4 sized monster. Perfect for off-roading and still able to fit in a parking spot. I'm so happy with the truck and the upgrade options are amazing for the Ranger. Finally!!

I hope to come to terms with the limits of my wallet, but there are something I have done so far to enhance the performance. I have some real plans to hash out in the future and will share as time goes buy

Here is where I am at now with upgrades

-JB4 Piggy back tuner running E30. No ECU tune yet until I decide on my warranty. The Ford Performance tuners have to many draw backs to save a couple years on the warranty. Plus the JB4 has all the safety feature maintained.

-MBRP Armor pro Single cat back (For the amazing sound and modest exhaust notes at cruise)
-AFE Rapid induction Intake (totally not needed now but couldn't pass up the deal for the sound. I have another reason for the semi open design later. I can get a seal kit for it and do some testing)

- Go Fast Bits DV+ ( got to get the better response and pressure control with the boost increases on the JB4. It really is noticeable though the OEM valve is adequate)

-C&L throttle Controller(probably trash worthy, haven't decide yet. I does have some utility for dragging or 0-60 tests. $75 was worth a shot). The JB4 tune has a +11 throttle setting that already takes up the slack in the pedal.

- Velossa Big mouth snorkel (Bling for the Tremor Red accent. Maybe a dollars worth of MPG)

-Afe Big Mouth Snorkel (RED) for the factory airbox. ( More bling maybe some air flow)

- Ford Performance Oil air Separator/Catch Can ( The 2.3l EB already has 2 OEM Separators, so three is better LOL!! Pure insurance, maybe some octane consistency. Got a smoking deal at $270 with free shipping. Go Blue Oval Industries Ford Ranger — Blue Oval Industries .) They got Procal 4's with Vouchers for like $640 Right now. Never seen a deal that good. Plus a ton of Ranger accessories way cheaper.

-light upgrades. The stock XLT lamps are garbage. The Lariat lamps are Overpriced and actually are not as attractive if you run decent LEDs on the XLT. Got 6000k Low Beams, 6500K high beam and 3500K Fog lamps. Lumens? Bright enough to scare the shit out of oncoming high beamers

Next on the List

- Full CV Fab intercooler kit with Pipes.
- 1-2" level kit. Dirty bag at the mod shop wanted $750 just to install the kit. $160 for the alignment. Nah!!
- CV Fab catted down pipe. when they release the 2022-2023 versions. "yes they are coming in about with 3 months from this post. Per CV fab emails to me." Screw SPD for charging $800 bc they are the only game in town".

- Water Method injection maybe, at some point? (E30 mix is amazing for HP and temps, but more difficult to find these days. All the locator apps send you to stations that just have some type of Ethanol not (E85). WMI has similar gains to E30 mix but much easier to run with just 93. With the added benefit of cleaning Intake ports, It is looking like a no brainer for the money. Runs cooler and is programable with the JB4, without a custom ECU tune.

*********update*********
-Water Meth injection probably isn't going to happen. There is some serious concerns with the 2.3l EB motors. Company's like LIvernois only do Direct Injected Meth bc of issues with pooling in the intake. Would have been nice. I don't feel like drilling out ports on the manifold and risking all the possible failure points on Meth injection vs E30 fuel mix.

Cheers!! I hope to read all about what you all have going on with your trucks.

Yeah Buddy. the B models are almost exactly the same. If not a tad bit better. You had the 4.0l which had the options to mod over the 3.0L. The 2.5l was the modded hellion though.

Cheers bro, I just got a 22 XLT Tremor and I couldn't be happier. There is some much you can do with that Truck. The Maverick Turbo AWD, I think has some potential as the 21 century Cyclone Killer from 93. But they just can't compare to the Ranger Mod stack and capability atm.

Hey Everyone! I've been lurking around this site for the past week or two looking for lots of advice. You all have helped me so much and don't even know it.

I bought a 2WD 2023 Ranger Lariat SuperCrew just over a year ago. I love everything about it, fantastic truck all around! I test drove all the other pickups, and found the driving experience on this one to be the most enjoyable. However, I can't help but modify. My friend owns a shop and does SEMA builds. I have done a lot of free work photo/video wise for him over the years and he is rewarding me with a build. Although my truck is 2WD, I just love the look of a lift with big wheels. Feel free to roast me for this, I can take it. Here is what I have so far. Any other tips/advice would be greatly appreciated.
  • Suspension: BDS 6” Lift Kit. (cast Steel knuckle type) with Fox 2.0 Performance rear shocks
  • Wheels: Icon Alloys Compression 17x8.5
  • Tires: Falken Rubitrek 285/70.17
  • Running Board: N-FAB LENGTH PODIUM STEPS or TYGER Star Armor
  • Fender Flares: Rough Country Pocket Fender Flares
  • Wrap: Matt dark green almost gray/black with green accents
  • Roof Rack: KCL92242 - 2019-2022 FORD RANGER KC HILITES M-RACKS WITH GRAVITY LED LIGHTS
  • Front Bumper: JCR Ranger Front Bumper | Crusader | 4th Gen (19-23)
  • Tow Hooks, color matched (green)
I wish I could document everything done for this, but he's going to be working on it while I am away on a work trip. There will definitely be before and after photos. I threw in a couple of AI generated photos that I used for motivation.

Found a 21' Ranger with 5k miles. Previous vehicle was a built out sprinter pop top. Plan is to keep it simple (famous last words). So far just some small cosmetic stuff and 5100s w/ 2.5" on the front. Wheels/tires eventually.
