Hi.
I have to admit I am as newbie as probably can be in pickup trucks world. Never had a truck before. Or a diesel vehicle. Or vehicle with turbo. Gearbox always been manual because I didn’t want to loose the fun behind traffic light, in snow or on terrain. Mostly owned and driven AWD-s, Quattros, few front wheelers, always hated rear wheel drive.
First pickup test drive I had 8 years ago with used Mitsubishi. Didn’t like and I gave up on pickups. Some years ago I wanted again pickup and checked on Toyota. The dealer wanted to sell me so many adds for bed protection it’s the only thing I remember. And I wanted black one even back then. Again I ended up with empty hands.
Since my right leg got very nervous with bigger engines meanwhile and coused me some trouble, I needed to cool myself down with something, what is not capable of noticeable acceleration. Past 2 more years and I decided - now I go with Ranger and broke all my previous rules at once - Wildtrak is diesel with 2 turbos, rear wheel drive (with 4L & 4H) and automatic transmission. Wildtrak package has almost everything I need and I ordered some adds which I needed, since I don’t do mods. (Not even dampers.) I would do few mods actually, but what I like is not legal or would affect warranty. Even though I have cars-related past, there are reasons I try to stay out of garage.
Our country is so small so there is no local forum to find any helpful information, also I have no friends with pickups to ask. On roads mostly Toyotas.
I was lucky I made good decision at least while ordering truck to add additional anchors to bed and electric cover. And I was lucky to get it ASS-less.
Still don’t understand - I don’t mod, but why I need so much stuff for her? My husband was not happy at all about 300€ dash cam for example, but I see it as must be. With some items I can make him believe he needs it too, but looks like soon I end up ordering secretly and just hide all the stuff. Maybe it’s because he has not even once tried to drive my Ranger and I will not offer any more too.
How is it possible someone doesn’t want to try a Ranger?

Sorry about written mistakes! English is not my native languge.

Best wishes
Kristina

Welcome from Charlotte, NC, USA.

Dash Cams are a must IMO. Try to mount it where it can't be seen or where you can easily remove and stow it when away. A hot 'theft item' pretty much everywhere.

We have here good insurance contract options and I invested pretty well on mine, they added to my contract I have a dash cam as a plus. My insurance will pay for stolen things from truck and also damages what thieves may do to truck.
First I mounted cam next to mirror, but that was not good at all, now I like it more.

Insurance is a must, but the inconvenience of repair and renumeration can be painful. My camera setup from the Ford Accessory Catalog. A P200 Thinkware front/rear w/audio and infrared:

The main 'forward' camera is under the rear view mirror. The smaller device to the immediate right is the rear view camera. The circular device next to the rear view camera is the GPS antenna.

Hi folks....placed my order for a '23 Ranger this morning. It's an XLT SuperCab in Azure Gray Metallic with the 302 package, Sport Appearance package, tow, and 18" wheels. I'm coming out of a '16 F-150 that a red light runner in a BMW decided to total for me. The Ranger buying process was basically like ordering from a McDonald's menu with zero price negotiation....MSRP...take it or leave it (except for a $1,000 rebate). I guess the good news part was I was in and out of the dealership in about 20 minutes. And I did get a very fair total loss settlement for my F-150.....91% of what I paid for it 6 years ago. Looking forward to learning from all of you and hopefully contributing once in awhile. Not sure when to expect delivery of the Ranger.

Picked up my new Tremor yesterday and love the way it drives so far. Look forward to reading everything here and learning from the pros. I'll be adding a FlipBak on it this next week and ordering a front hidden hitch so I can run my winch front or back.

Welcome. Love the Tremor. That red is smokin hot man... Looks great with all the black accents. My wife has the Tremor in cactus grey. Great model...

Hi,

First off I've been a lurker and I was rather hesitant to want to fully join up. Honestly some of it has to do with forums having those who think they know their vehicle better than the engineers to made it real. But I decided just in case I do need to ask some questions its better to join up this way. I have a 21' STX Special Edition in Race Red, I've owned it for almost a year and done a fair amount of work to it. Mud Guards which I had the dealer throw on last month when in for service, the rest of this I have done myself as my Ranger has a ''Raptor'' inspired them to it. Raptor Font Decals for the Box that say RANGER, Raptor center caps, I'm currently working out to make a Raptor Style Steering Wheel which will be the last bit of work I do to it. I have LED Amber Fog Lights, Bed Tray, Tailgate Cover/Liner, Tonneau Cover, Cargo Net as this truck is put to work being the family workhorse. Under the Hood is where I'm really sort of proud, aside getting an Engine Cover just after buying it, I've done my usuals which is the K&N Drop in, I grabbed an AFE Intake Snorkel/Scoop. I did buy a Velossatech Big Mouth Intake, while the biggest and most unique was I fitted a Diesel Ranger Upper Radiator Shield on, IE the Bi-Turbo and new 3.2L Diesel Radiator Shield. I will let the pics do the talking about my Ranger but I'm pleased with how it's come out. I don't know yet if I'm going to work on the rear lighting aspects, such as LED's which is another staple for me. Time will tell what I want to do with it as I'm also picky about the type of LED bulbs I use.
