New (aftermarket) Engine Covers

I could see it on the fiberglass. But good point that there is not news of multiple hood or engine failures with it installed.

Added a Ford OEM Engine cover in Oct. 2022 after owing the Ranger for a little over 2 yrs. and no rust in the plug wells. Has anyone experienced any moisture sitting in your plug wells after a Ford OEM Engine cover came originally with your truck or after one was installed later?

Any one see these yet? They make a 2.3 for the Ranger. I can't decide how I feel about it. I like choices but I'm still holding out for something new from Ford.

- looks cool (at least better than bare, imo)
- should last a long time

- does nothing for sound deadening
- reminds me of the muffler shroud on a lawn mower
- still feels like it's missing something

I like the look of it but wonder how cozy it would be for my winter mice?

Yep, order at any Ford dealer, they are just pulling from warehouse inventory in most cases, so the order gets cancelled in the next 48 hours.

Call around to your local dealers. Ask them to check other dealer inventory. A friend of mine was looking for one so I dropped by the dealer yesterday and asked if they had a cover. They did not, but he told me that a dealer in North Dakota and one in Colorado were showing one in stock. He gave me the number to the ND dealer since they are reasonably close.

I called the ND dealer, their inventory count was off, but he was kind enough to look if anyone in his area had one. He gave me their number & I made a second call. My buddy will have a brand new cover in his hands by the end of the week,.

There are a few left out there, but they are getting harder to find.

That's very resourceful and really telling about the ststus of the cover. I guess they won't be making them at all anymore.

I also asked for pics of it installed on Ranger5G. They said hopefully by Monday.

So no pics yet. And website now doesn’t mention the Ranger as it did before. I’m suspecting it didn’t fit the 2.3L layout of the Ranger. Lot’s of differences on the up top plumbing between Bronco and Ranger.

Wondering if this is also designed to keep water out of the plug wells like the Ford OEM?

It does seem to cover a lot more "spaghetti" than the Ford cover does. Makes the engine compartment look a lot less "busy" .
With what new ones (if found) or used ones are going for now, $149 doesn't seem too bad.

It's better, I guess. I'm still waiting for a water and noise solution.
