New (aftermarket) Engine Covers

Any one see these yet? They make a 2.3 for the Ranger. I can't decide how I feel about it. I like choices but I'm still holding out for something new from Ford.

- does nothing for sound deadening
- reminds me of the muffler shroud on a lawn mower

This doesn't need to fix the drip issue.
The drip issue is from something else.

As far as reducing noise...anything that creates a barrier reduces noise.
The better the material, or additional material, helps improve that.
There's clearly things you could do to improve this for sound deadening if that's your end goal.

I have noticed a trend amongst this forum, and its leaning towards the always gotta complain about something trend. Many Karen's and Chad's on here that set the bar high for no other reason than to whine about things.

Kudo's to this company for making the effort. ?

it looks okay i guess i could see someone putting this on a car for more flash but eh not really that great looking on a truck tbh but hey if you like it go for it i guess id rather having nothing or the oem

That's God awful ugly. A plain steel plate will not do anything to control sound. Probably will funnel it back against the firewall making the cab louder. At least they put some slots in so you can feed the mice without removing it. Probably a Chinese company that read this forum and saw the whining about cover deletion looking to make a quick buck on an item that probably voids the warranty.

The truth is, those without engine covers run cooler, than those that do. So figure out which "cool" you really care about!

I said compared to a bare engine. I also said it was just my opinion. I honestly don’t know what point you’re trying to make regarding aesthetics. Regarding heat, this thing isn’t retaining much. If any heat. I’m not really excited to be in a position to defend this thing as I really don’t think I care for it but I was just really confused by your comment.

I can say i like it more than the factory cover. Would I get it? Probably not

If it had V’s for putting my tacos in might be interested but as is… nawww I keep my factory cover with the ford badge on it.

No effect on longevity, looks good.
BUT...if you had used a "Ford Racing" emblem, it would have added horsepower !
Everyone knows that !
