Can you have more than one set of TPM sensors programed for the truck? I'm sure the winter tire guys have delt with this.

Is there a business case for this? Multiple sensor readers? Replacing sensors without removing the old/bad ones?

Confused!

I don’t see why not. I took my stock wheels off and bought a new set for my new wheels with no issues

I have two sets of wheels, each with OE Ford TPMS sensors. It takes about two miles of driving for the Ranger to sense the presence of a new sensor at any mounted wheel position. A fifth sensor in the spare wheel/tire doesn't not interfere with the mounted wheel, and can be rotated-in for regular use with the other four tires. I have no special tools, and do not perform any reset procedure when doing this. It all happens automatically. Not everyone has been successful with this, but most seem to report the same experience as mine.

I have typically always had a separate set of wheels for my winter tires and would put tpms sensors in them. I would just swap back and forth between the tires, no programming necessary. This is with various Ford and Mopar vehicles. All of these winter tires/wheel combo had aftermarket sensors too. Just takes a mile or two of driving for the new sensors to be detected. Never noticed any difference in the accuracy between tire/wheel combos.

Good morning. Could answer a question for me? Were the second set of wheels/TPMs sensors take offs from another Ranger? Reason I ask is I have purchased a second set of OEM wheels and a brand new set of Ford OEM TPMS sensors…… Do you think there needs to be an initial activation/programming of a new OEM TPMS sensor In order for the truck to recognize it? Thanks for any information that you may have on this!

I have never had to program TPMS sensors for and Ford or Mopar vehicle I have had. Just install them and within a mile or two they are connected. This is with both OEM sensors and aftermarket.

I purchased a set of the OE sensors from eBay. They require no activation or programming prior to use. My Ranger detected them within about 2 miles on the first drive.

Do you recall the part number for the Ford sensors?

If they are ford ones then kinda. I put among many other things bronco sasquatch wheels and tires on my ranger and while I was driving back the system still read the original wheels sensors that were in the bed but cause they weren't spinning they of course shut off and I got the old tire pressure warning. I was very happy to see that after I think about an hour worth of driving on the new wheels the bronco tpms sensors synced up and work perfectly. I can't speak for non oem ones but the ford ones work perfectly.
