2023 Lariat 4X4, replaced camera after breaking it (that's a story I don't wish to share), guidelines were missing. I downloaded FORScan and the first and only function I performed was to recalibrate BdyCM, and the lines came back. I happened to find this in a Ford Explorer Forum. A couple of notes here, I am running Livernois 91-93 Soft Shift Tune and FORScan did not recognize it. It asked me for an id and I tried different names that I thought represented the tune and nothing would work. I went back to stock, made the change, verified the lines were back, reinstalled the tune, verified the lines were still there and that was it. I am sharing this since this group has been very helpful with my learning about my Ranger and I wanted to give something back. After all, I wouldn't have known to install my tailgate damper without this forum, thanks again.

Well thanks for sharing the tips but please share why you had to replace the camera.. a lot of us share our “oh crap” moments that lead to the necessity of a solution. I promise not to laugh too hard..

I was replacing the rear oval and bezel with black and my brain couldn't differenciate the notch under the oval with the space under the camera. With some touch up paint and the replacements installed, nobody knows what happened except me and all of you. Next up, replacing the stock grille with the one from Ford Performance.

BTW good choice, I too prefer the black ovals. Came stock with the BAP and they fit well with any color I can think about.

When I ordered the truck, the Black Appearance Package was on my order. The sales manager forgot to submit it, and I didn't realize it until it was too late. He offered to order me another, but I had read that they weren't taking any more orders for 2023. My color is shadow black so I wanted it all black. I took the truck as ordered and decided to add the parts of the package myself. I have already replaced the fender vents, the rear oval and bezel, added sill plates, and the grille seems to fit the theme. I will save the black rims for last when I replace the tires. I do love this truck like a lot of you folks.

Interesting note on the camera/guide lines. I bought a bronco I I think the lines are not calibrated correctly. When I back out of a narrow driveway at a friends house I check the mirrors an I'm centered in the driveway but the reference lines on the screen shows more space on one side than the other.

I had the Livernois tune too an really liked it. I read to flash back to stock before going in for service but I don't recall anything about forscan.

FORScan would not connect initially because it did not recognize the character string representing the tune. I assume it was looking for a vin#. It asked me to enter a character string describing the tune. I tried a couple of things but felt I was wasting time, so when I went back to stock, and tried again, it connected right away. Now that it is resolved, I will research what I need to enter the next time so I can use FORScan with the tune installed. As far as your issue, I am not sure. I thought I remember seeing that symptom while searching on the missing guidelines. Maybe trying the same thing will fix it, don't know.

Hey neighbor!(I'm in Fallbrook). I'm more interested in how we in this area can get a tune from Livernois. See ya around!

If you are flashing back to stock in an effort to hide the fact that you are tuned, don't bother. Every time you flash the PCM it increments a flash counter and resets a counter for number of drive cycles since last flashed.

So the dealer can immediately see how many times it has been flashed and how many key cycles since it was last flashed. Can't hide anything from them, IF they want to know.

Only reason to flash back before taking in is if they decide to flash an update while there. Then you might want to upload a new stock copy to your tuner to see if they need to modify your tune.

Just go to the Livernois website and read up on how to proceed. There were no questions asked about living in California. I went with them because I didn't want to wait for Ford to release to residents of California, and Livernois has more options to install. I have been running with the soft shift 91-93 tune for 2000 miles now, and I can't imagine running with the stock tune again, ever.

Awesome, thanks! Did you get the tuner (hardware) and tune (software) from their site?

No, returning to stock was in case the dealership reflashed the computer with an updated tune.

You create an account, add the tune to your cart, pay, then you get the tuner (box smaller than a cell phone) along with 2 cords, one for the truck and one for your laptop. You install the app on your laptop, it downloads code to the tuner. You plug the tuner into your truck and download your stock tune. Then you reconnect to your laptop, start the app (program) and it sends the tune to Livernois where they save it. You now order your tune (my steps my be out of order but you get it right?) You get an email telling you your tune is ready to download, plug back in to the laptop, tune(s) get downloaded to your tuner, and you go back to the truck and install it. I remember reading that there was a time folks here got 5 tunes. I requested the 91-93 performance tune, they sent me that and the 91-93 towing tune. When I decided I wanted to try the soft shift, I called them, they charged me $10 and it was ready later that day. You may want to talk to them or email what they will provide on the intial purchase. Hope this clarifies the process.
