Passed by this festive Taco yesterday evening fully wrapped in Christmas lights and I thought that my fellow Ranger5g folks would certainly enjoy it as well.

Who will decorate their Ranger to show them up?

I recall in the past someone got stopped by the police for this.
We have laws on which certain colors can be projected forward and rearward (like reds and blues), and the ticket was based on that.

I wish places I lived they enforced those laws. Blur head lights, red halo ring fog lights. See it all the time. You have to really piss off a cop to get a ticket for Christmas lights. Or you got pulled over by Ebenezer himself.

Yea knew someone who got pulled over for it with red light on the front. He was told it was because they don't want it to look like break/back lights are coming toward a driver coming the other way. I have also been told only emergency vehicles can have red lights on front.

Lots of laws on stuff and I wonder wonder how some get away with it. Friend got busted for to much tint and had to remove it while I see others where you can not see in at all. I was with my friend when he was pulled over.

There are laws that vary by state to state how far your tires can stick out past fenders. Some states it is like 2" and some completely covered. I watched a cop in a parking lot get out and measure tires on a vehicle in a parking lot once. I see people driving with allot more than that and think how do they get away with it or they just have not been pulled over yet.

There are rules how high a lift you can have.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I received the tinted window citation, a 'fix-it' ticket. Either take it off and get it signed off or pay the fine. The fine was $120 and it would have been about the same to replace the tint, so I just paid it and kept driving, never got stopped for it again. After I became a LEO I never gave out a tint citation unless the driver failed to roll down the windows as I approached.
Just a tip: If you ever get stopped at night just roll down the front windows (if you have tint), turn on the dome light, and place both hands on the wheel in plain sight, it will go much easier. I want to know if I have the perps who hit the local Stop-N-Rob or the Little Ol Lady from Pasadena.

Back in the day when I had my 67 Mustang which had blacked out windows in Arizona. I wasn't kind to speed limits then much either. But one night I got pulled over, yes I was speeding. I did just that, rolled windows down, interior light on and hands in plain sight. The officer asked why I did that? I said to make you know I wasn't a threat. He was kind of shocked and just chatted and told me have a nice night and of course slow it down.

Why both fronts?

I've always done both drivers side windows. Cops always approach from the drivers side rear in my experience.

Yep, done the same and got away with a warning and usually never get a warning from state troopers. Told him I did it for his safety and mine.

If they look across and see the passengers side is black then they know the driver side is too. The rears can be as dark as you want.

Sure.

But I'm not rolling down windows to hide from a tint ticket. I'm rolling them down for officer safety. Drivers window alone doesn't do much for their visibility into the vehicle as they approach. With the rear down as well they've got a lot better visibility into the vehicle as they are walking up.

Perhaps Jesse was attempting to kill two birds with one stone?

I was just trying to see if there's an officer safety reason for passengers side window that I'm missing. As other's have reported I find it gives me some "cushion."

I think he meant the passengers side if the tint was illegal (to dark) that way they don't have any reason to question them. As far as rolling them down for their safety, I'm with you but I just roll down my drivers side and have my hands on top of the steering wheel in plain sight. Especially if I'm carrying which is just about all the time. This way they know I'm taking precautions that we're both safe.

The only vehicles I want this enforced on are those stupid brotrucks with offsets where 90% of the wheel is past the fender. Or those douche jeep owners who just remove their fenders period.

F those people. Selfish pricks who don't care what their tires kick up into the people behind them.
