Low oil pressure alert?

Our running errands with the wife. Been driving around town (town and interstate driving) for about an hour. Came to a stop and low oil pressure light comes on.

Stopped. Turned the engine off and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Checked the engine and the oil. No signs of oil loss and right at full on the dip stick (technically a little over because it’s hot) but thoughts?

Yes… I’m worried there’s a short in the pump or something. Oddly strange

Hot oil will have low pressure at idle. Chances are your low oil pressure switch just may be operating higher than normal. If you are under warranty I would get it to the dealer. If not find a way to plumb in a direct pressure gauge and verify everything.

The oil pump is mechanical. it will work or it wont since I doubt it is worn.
