Is that the drip redirection thingy from below the oil filter?

OP - did you have your truck sprayed with a rust inhibitor?

It looks oily. I would have guessed it was bigger when I stick my hand in there. Unless OP has some massive hands.

It looks oily. I would have guessed it was bigger when I stick my hand in there. Unless OP has some massive hands.

Wish Ford fitted those to the diesel models released in Aus, no, even though the filter is in the same place, they just let it spill out over the chassis and front diff. So it drips for days afterwards, no matter how well you think you have cleaned up.

Okay so it bolts in just underneath the oil filter? I’m due for an oil change so I’ll put it back in.

This is exactly why I prefer to do things myself. The oil was done by a shop last.
