Insurance will get set up tomorrow so when I got her home tonight she went straight into the garage so I wasn't tempted to drive it more.

Here's what I got for now...

Figured I'd group these together. First is the Ranger next to a 110-ton crawler crane at the equipment yard and second is a Taco I found in a garage.

Patina is mostly real, with a bit added for matching and will likely stay. Unless I get real good at body work and real bored. Truck is frame swapped with 350, IFS, PS, PB, it will never have the value to justify a pretty paint job that I didn't do the majority of the work on.

Researching options to seal it up, boiled linseed oil and Flood Penetrol seem to be the top choices now. Clear coating seems like a bad idea.

it doesn't matter what texture you go with. You are putting paint over rust that isn't meant to used to cover rust. it does the bubble and peel in no time and your $$$ and time goes down the?.

@D Fresh personally I'm a fan of Danish oil. but plan to do at least a coat of either kind of oil every year to keep it looking good

Yeah, from everything I'm reading an actual clear coat will eventually yellow, cloud, and or peel.

Danish oil looks like a nice middle point between boiled linseed oil and penetrol. Thanks for the tip.
