Taxed at every step? Is that what VAT is?
We don't do that in the states, at least in my state. I work for a fabricator building power and pumping units. We are tax exempt for material and parts purchased for the project, but the final customer pays sales tax. Our business does pay taxes on earnings.
VAT, diesel/gas tax (for transportation), earnings, tax on salaries, social security, etc. all baked in to the mix. As I said, US is no where near the Europe on socializing the capitalism, but still isn't out of it. Here in Finland they've even invented 2% "solidarity tax" for people earning more than 73000€/year (damn good that they scrapped the "reverse house income tax" which was planned for people who own their house instead of renting and thus avoid the cost of renting and associated taxes).

That's outrageous. That's at least 50% more than the Denver metro. I'm betting you can find a better price elsewhere.

Try 4 Wheel Parts off of Peoria and I-70 in Denver if you're willing to drive. I'm betting you'll get a much better deal. Unless I'm totally off base in this new world we live in now.

Thanks for the lead, I'll check them out. I commute to Denver, so I don't mind driving down.
