level kit for towing

Hey guys I'm looking some help on choosing a level kit for my lariat. I frequently tow my 19' bass cat boat which weighs between 3-3500lbs with trailer and gear. I was thinking about the 2.5" front level kit but wondering what will happen when I tow. Will the front of the truck now be too high once trailer is hooked up?

Yes it will be. I have the same issue with my current setup. Hauling a 3k trailer and the sag levels out my rig (the rake goes away). I am considering airbags for the rear. Its a preference thing for me... I like to keep it level.

I went with just a 1” for this very reason. Makes the rake more tolerable but shouldn’t be an issue with towing.

yeah I was thinking I would have to add bags to the year. Do the bags raise the rear at all or does it stay stock height?

I have the 2.5" leveling kit and tow a 3500lb pop up

Airbags are installed, without it would sag. Around town I run 0 psi, the AirLift Ultimates come with an internal bumper to allow for it

Fully loaded mine sags about 1.5"-2" with no air added to the bags

30-50 psi gets me level

However 65+ psi and I can go about 1.5" above stock. It is not realistic because it is so bouncy but interesting to know

And if you are concerned about dual use, where a bag might be ripped or loose articulation off-road, the Daystar cradles solve that issue. May have to notch one of the airlift brackets to work with a Fox or King 2.5 setup though. Regular shocks no notching. There are some other threads on this

350 miles such an easy and awesome tow. This pickup is amost just the same as a full size!

I am no engineer but i do know all the leveling kits and suspension mods cause big changes in handling as created by the engineers. I do this often enough where i need better bump stops and maybe a rear sway bar. No big bumpers and such it all takes away from my payload

Put simple there is no such thing as a leveling kit designed for towing. One of the main reasons trucks come with rake is due to the rear being much lighter vs most other vehicles. When you put stuff in the bed and/or hook up a trailer it will lower the rear. If you end up leveling the truck you will get that squating dog look when gou load the rear. It will also give you less visibility on the road.

I myself did have a lift kit(ues there is a difference) that let the truck keep said Rake. I did tow from time to time and the truck would get a little level Depending on the load.

If you want to improve comfort but dont want to lift at all the both Eibach and Bilstein do have replacement shocks and struts that keep factory ride height and improve comfort and handling along with better feel with towing.
