Just took delivery of my 2021 Ranger. Everything was working fine, but just noticed the parking lights and the strip of lights that run on the outside of the headlamps will not turn off. It's been this way for over an hour, so it's not the normal delay. Tried restarting, but that does not solve the problem. Thanks.

Hi Cowboy,

Check your dash light switch to make sure it is off or set on autolamp if you have this feature. Sounds like the lights are ON....they will eventually turn off due to battery drain.... This is just a thought...

Thanks, yes that was the issue. Threw me off since it was not the actual headlamps. Now I know!

Hi Phil,
The same thing is happening to me, but I am not sure what you mean by "check your dash light switch is off or set to autolamp". Do you have an image of this?
Thanks,
Steven

I remember when I got a loaded Mariner in 06 an it had the automatic headlights. When I first got the SUV I thought man people are sure F'ing lazy to not even turn on their own headlights. This SUV got about 20 MPG since it had the V6. I decided to get something smaller in 2010 since my boys wrestled an I drove 24K a year taking them to tournaments an stuff. It didn't have the auto on headlights an I went about a year before retraining my self to turn my lights on an off again.

Thank you! So, if I turn it to B, and I turn off and lock the vehicle, the lights stay on. Is this intended behavior?
Of course.

That is the parking lamp symbol at "b."

Was this a serious question?
