I have a 2021 XLT with FX4. I picked up the following from offer up in a package deal:

Eibach 2.0R kit
Icon Tubular UCAs
BDS 1” shackles

I’m planning to run 265/70/17 OR 275/70/17 on stock wheels and hope not to modify crash bars/felt/plastic in the wheel wells. My budget is tight and need to reserve $$$ for the tires rather than other unnecessary mods.

I have 2 questions I’d love your help with. Has anyone run the larger 275/70 with the lift and no mods to crash bars due to rubbing? I read 78 pages of the main tire thread and found 1 person who said it’s possible but not sure if I want to base it off 1 vote. @Discount Tire says I can with the lift on the website if that means anything.

Second question - do I really need to use the rear shackles if I simply want to lift the front to level the truck? The Eibach have an extra inch of travel but I’m not sure how much lift I really care about even though I’ll be off roading in the desert through the washes and stuff. @Stage3Motorsports any thoughts here? The guy I bought this stuff from got thethe parts from you minus the shackles.

I’m new to having my own rig but have driven others off-road so not a total newbie but also don’t want to go giant tires and super high lift just for the sake of matching everyone else out on the trails.

If you just want to level the truck, you don't need the rear shackles. 265/70/17 is about the limit you can run on stock wheels without any issues. I'm running that size in a Goodyear Duratrac and there is zero rubbing. You might be able to go with the 275/70/17, but a lot of that is going to depend on the tire as they're not all the exact same size at a given size. I recall someone got away with that size running a KO2, but BFG's tend to run smaller compared to others. 275/70/17 is also an uncommon size from my research, so you don't have a lot of options.

You are correct there’s only 3-4 options so I have to either stick with 265/70 or go up to 285’s to have more options but then I definitely need mods and likely new wheels (not likely to run spacers)

Sounds like 265/70 is the way to go now unless you want to deal with crash bars and wheels/spacers.
