The amp is a Yammy A-700 that I got at a garage sale a couple summers ago, that I'm pretty sure I paid 5 bucks for. If I remember right I think there was a stereo issue that was only present on one of the speaker sets. Switched to the other speaker terminals and all was well.

Didn't realize the amp didn't have a built-in tuner LOL. so I had to buy one on ebay.

I've been using some Boston Acoustics A40s that the woofer surrounds are shot on and one of them started making a noise the other day. Impatient type that I am I went to best buy and bought these tiny Insignia speakers to use until I decide whether to buy new drivers for the A40s or replace the surrounds.

Considering all the time I spend out there wrenching on motorcycles, I should probably have something better. But I have a $20 receiver and a $50 pair of speakers mounted to the wall that sounds way better than you would think this kind of money would. I modified the insides and crossover of the speaker to sound better.

The little amp isn't available anymore but they have a newer version with more power and a 3rd sub amp channel that you can just add a woofer in a box.

I’ve got a few different things in my garage.
  • A Google Home (surprisingly good sound)
  • An Alexa
  • A Sirius boom box with a lifetime subscription receiver. (Haven’t used in years since all my smart devices play my subscriptions through them)

Hi Folks.

Here is a split picture of my Shop Speakers. When I wired the house for sound system including the possible 7.1 surround system, I wired every room in the house for stereo sound. So the Reciver/amp is in the master bedroom, a Denon with Sirius/Xm. We can pump the output to every room in the house including my shop and our patio. I can turn off any room as needed.

When we get up in the morning, about 6am we turn on the music and when we retire at night the last thing is to turn off the music...We live every day with music filling the house.

I have a Yamaha YAZ-207BL bluetooth soundbar with sub attached to my 42" screen in my garage...when I'm wrenching on the Ranger, even outside the garage, I feed Pandora through them and this unit really really rocks! The subwoofer is remote hidden under the work bench so the whole set up is nearly invisible...the sound is awesome...gotta be careful and not have this too loud or it'll shake the walls and annoy Mrs inside watching TV  :like:

If anyone is looking for another alternative boom box ($70), recently bought this for my camp setup:

I am BLOWN AWAY by the quality and depth of sounds coming from such a compact unit...it's bluetooth connected to my phone and it's internal battery also has an output for charging...I had this thing on full volume for at least 3 hours and it kepted on kicking...it's also water resistant... :like:

I bought a small am/fm/cd unit to fit on top of my toolbox at work. That was like 18 yrs ago. Still have it, but it's in the garage now. It's called a Caimbridge I believe. Equivalent to a Bose radio.
That little thing filled the entire shop with rich full bass.
I don't think my neighbors would like me turning it up with MC Hammer like I used to, I just turn it on occasionally at moderate volume.

I use a Kicker IK501 boombox. Got it super cheap because it is designed to be used with an ipod. I just use an ipod to bluetooth converter module with it. It's surprisingly clean and loud with decent bass response.

Although I like a nice stereo system - mine is simple and easy, but it works for me.

Happy New Year Zaph!
I used to consider myself an aspiring audiofile back in the day, but have not kept up with the technology.
Presently I use a garage sale Sony 7 channel AVR to drive a set of Polk bookshelf speakers. The bass output is almost nil, akin to 2 vintage Zenith transistor radios spaced 10 feet apart, if you will...
Wondering if this device will help with bass "oomph"?
Thoughts and/or inputs?
I do realize that what I am trying to accomplish is like putting lipstick on a pig, but at least the lipstick is in "Rapid Red" hue...lol

I have a Dewalt jobsite radio. Aside from the manufacturer’s reputation, I pick this radio because of its versatility, durability, and fantastic sound quality.
