A unique and semi frustrating event with my 2021 Ranger Tremor

About 4 weeks ago I had to replace my OEM windshield due to a rock breaking it. Through insurance a local glass installer replaced the windshield with their 3rd party windshield and calibrated the lane keep assist successfully.

When I took the truck back into possession I enabled the lane keep assist (I rarely use the system) to make sure it worked since it was going through insurance.

The lane keep program worked with no errors but the camera no longer recognizes my lane of traffic but only recognizes both lanes (from white line of my lane to white line of opposite lane but not center line) the lane assist will work with assist if wandering between both lanes of traffic.

I called the glass installer and explained the situation they requested to bring back for a recalibration. This was done successfully (on their driving calibration process) however after the calibration process was completed successfully the road test failed again as the lane assist camera still only recognizes both lanes as one lane and still no lane assist error messages or codes.

The glass installer recommended I take it to a Ford dealership for a calibration process with their equipment which I did and once again the calibration process completed successfully but failed the road test with the technician. Ford confirmed no modifications were made eg lift..tires etc..and suggested that the 3rd party windshield is probably to blame.

I contacted the glass installer and they reluctantly agreed to replace the windshield again and also reluctantly agreed to replace with an OEM one but they did. Ran calibration software process which completed successfully but yet again failed on a road test the camera with a new OEM windshield is still only recognizing both lanes as one single lane and again the system has no error messages or codes.

At this point the glass installer is out of options and I accept this is as far as they can extend themselves.

I take the truck back into Ford to explain the issue and what's been done....they have it for almost a couple of hours to road test, physically inspect the camera and connectors and wiring for any damage...they recalibrate it, they reflash the IPMA and again no luck no system errors or codes and lane assist camera still not recognizing single lane.

At this point I explain I have extended warranty and this system should be covered however because there is no system errors or codes present a warranty claim cannot be initiated (even with a road test by a tech which I disagree with but thats another story).

The tech had to put the issue into a Ford tech hotline for further direction to complete a diagnosis. This week I was asked to bring the truck in as the Ford tech hotline directed the dealership to inquire about doing a camera swap from a ranger of similar year (which turned out to be another clients vehicle with their permission) this was performed and recalibrated to my truck and road tested and the issue was resolved as the lane assist keep was functioning again as normal.

After this was done the cameras were swapped back and reprogrammed and a warranty claim was created for a new camera system. In the end the technician and service manager still have no idea how the lane assist camera has no errors detected or codes stored and just up and stopped recognizing just the center line... something they say they honestly have never encountered before.
