I have a 2020 Ford Ranger 4 x4 Crew cab with the 2.3L Ecoboost Engine and electric 10 Speed Auto Transmission. Has anyone experienced lagging in the shifting of the gears between 40Km - 60Km? Sometimes it seems to "buck" into a higher gear or down to a lower gear. Warranty work has been done now they are going to replace the valve covers? Just don't want to be paying a deductable while the dealership guesses what is causing it. Looking for experience and answers.

You'll get experienc AND answers on this forum for sure.
Using the Google search feature on the forum for those key words will likely bring you several threads on the symptoms you have.
Hang tough and good luck!

That or sticking valve body solenoids. Have you ever changed your transmission fluid? Mine began showing slow shifts and bucking at 5K miles. By 20K I was looking to unload the truck. My wife called it a lemon.

I installed the Fitzstick dipstick, and promptly replaced 7.5 quarts of fluid through the dipstick with 7quarts of new fluid plus 10oz of LubeGard Platinum which promptly cured the problem. I have since replaced the DPFE sensor and that got rid of a slight miss/bucking under light throttle.

I have 1000 miles on the truck since the work and it is back to shifting like it did when it was new.
Perform a quick search and you'll find others having the same results. It is a lot cheaper than having the transmission replaced!

Hey Joanne, you’re right to come here looking for some experience and answers - with very few Rangers sold in Ontario, dealers may end up stumbling down their list of things to check or replace, without any luck, before they land on simple things like the DPFE sensor.

Search and read on and you’ll soon have some guidance for the service folks at Riverside. Good Luck.
