What sizes Kinetic rope are you all getting? I keep going back and forth between a 3/4" and 7/8". Looking specifically at ASR ropes. They say the 3/4 is for vehicles with 4,500 - 6,000lb with a 19,000lb MTS and 6,000lb WLL which seems like a good choice.

always go bigger than you think you'll need.
this also applies to drive through coffee, bullets and ice cream.
Does this mean I can fire .300 blackout out of my 5.56?

Thats kind of my thought but at the same time I've read that if you oversize too much you wont get the full stretch of the kinetic rope and not the full benefit?

My Ranger is two wheel drive and never goes off pavement, but the Jeep is a toy used only to cruise the Sierras and Moab, etc. I carry a 3/4" rope as part of my recovery gear. It seems to be adequate.

Edit: I double-checked the rope today and discovered it is a 7/8".

I cant speak for the kinetic rope since I already have a recovery strap from ARB(have yet to use but betrer safe then sorry right?). The working load limit is roughly 8,000 lbs but has a much higher breaking strength. Here is a link to it.

ARB RK12 ARB Weekender Recovery Kit ARB Weekender Recovery Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073RRZFQG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_8QMTB5GSFZYW10MEDYH2

As for the rope sizes you are looking at it may be better to go with the 7/8's due to the higher working load limit.
