Trying to decide which truck to order. I like the leather in the Lariat, but I'm not a fan of that dashboard. I wonder if it might be worth it to go with the XLT and install the Katzkin.

Do these install over the original cloth coverings or did you have to remove them then install the leather?

No they remove the original, you get to pick all the colors you can have all different setups also can pick the stiitching. around $1200-1300 depending on how complex you want to make them. They have a website and link to installers in each state. They also put leather in the doors. I have had them in 2 other trucks and they held up as good as factory seats. I have jump seats in the back and they really improved the look of these. Go to Katzkin.com

I've installed katzkin seat covers and several other brands (all leather), and I found the install to be relatively easy. Removing the seats is probably the hardest part. Not attempted in my Ranger as I am quite happy with the cloth seats, but I've done them in a Toyota Camry and in a Mazda Miata.

Just use hog rings, at least that was what was used when I did the work a few years ago,

I called them just now and they no longer sell the seat covers without a dealer install, which effectively doubles the price. Too bad too! 2 front seats in factory leather pattern was quoted at $1710.65 installed. Add another $750 for adding heated and cooled seats, Heating alone was $297 / seat.

I guess our Dollar ain't what it used to be!

Just as well find a wrecked Lariat and pull the seats from it, but you won't get custom work like that.

He sells the kits on Tacoma World but they carry Ford too.
